FANS FORUM

Musings Of An Ilson Fan attended the fans forum tonight to meet our new management team, Tristram Whitman and Aaron Large. The main takeaways from the well attended meeting were:

• 8 players have been signed, 3 of which have been announced. The others will be announced shortly
• They are in talks with other players, some of which are currently on holiday
• They have a set way of playing which involves playing out from the back, no long balls
• They prefer to play with 4 midfielders
• Tristram sounded like a very technical manager
• They will be adding an Opponent Analyst to their back room team
• The target is for a mid table finish and then to be able to attract better players
• Get fans back, play attractive football, attract better players
• The playing budget is better than last year
• Once the paddle courts are up and running then the budget will increase
• Overall they came across as very confident, knowledgable and likeable

I’m really looking forward to the new season,

Ilkeston are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Harry Wakefield from Rushall Olympic, subject to NPL & FA approval.

The physical centre-forward has scored goals wherever he's played, including 15 last season across spells with Boldmere and Rushall. Robins supporters may remember Wakefield scoring at the Microlise New Manor Ground for Rushall last campaign.
