⚽️ In Situ Individual Coach Development

Busy evening supporting coaches across with personalised support within their clubs. First up was a visit to to see a session on ‘high pressing’ with Heigham Park Juniors before a trip down to Thetford Town Ladies 1st team who were working on ‘switching play’.

Always great to be welcomed in to different environments and enjoyable supporting coaches with their own teams trying to add value where possible.

Grassroots Club Development
Last Sunday I was able to deliver a development event for coaches at . Big thanks must go to James who supported the event & allowed us to use the great facilities at the FDC.
The day focussed on building on learning from introductory FA courses by providing tools to plan effective coaching sessions. Specifically we looked at Practice Design & Intended Outcomes in an interactive way where coaches shared ideas and built a series of their own practices throughout the day. Crucially, coaches had the opportunity to take learnings on to the pitch and deliver a session with some wrap around support & feedback. Good fun made even better by top class engagement from all in attendance. Credit again to for blazing a trail and investing into the development of their volunteer coaching workforce.

Very hot ☀️ but enjoyable couple of days delivering Module 2 of the UEFA B Diploma at the Nest, Norwich.

Good to continue supporting coaches from across East Anglia on their journeys.

UEFA B Diploma tutor delivery 👨‍🎓⚽️

Enjoyable couple of days delivering Module 1 of the UEFA B Diploma based course for the FA. Good to work with fellow coach developers Danny, Ian & Matt and have the chance to support 28 aspiring coaches on their journeys.

Busy night of ⚽️

1️⃣ First up observation of U8 session as part of my programme of individual coach support with the club. Currently working with x4 different coaches supporting their personal development.

2️⃣ U18 game - Final game of season, been enjoyable getting on the grass coaching this group for the past few months who have done well as an U17 team in the U18 Thurlow Nunn league.

Great to see these new initiatives from the FA helping local county associations to provide more support to grassroots volunteers, something I am passionate about which in turn will hopefully help young players in Norfolk.

⚽️UEFA B Diploma Tutoring
Enjoyable few days delivering UEFA B Diploma Module 2 for the FA at Bedfordshire FA.

After looking at Game Models on Module 1 - Module 2 focusses on Coaching Approach.
Great discussions on
• coaching programmes
• linking unit/small group practice to game models for positional understanding
• interventions and coaching strategies

I got to take a functional skill practice on Attacking Centrally vs a Low Block as part of tutor delivery.

Good experience with top group of learners and experienced tutors.
