Northwich 5K Your Way, Move Against Cancer

A small but mighty turn out for 5k Your Way this morning! The weather stayed dry and it was nice and sunny, though still a bit cold! Two of us walked with Northwich parkrun parkwalker volunteer. This helped us to get a good time, proving the benefit and importance of that role - parkrun is an inclusive environment open to all abilities, not just runners!

Then we went for tea, coffee and teacakes at The Coffee House afterwards! ☕️ 🧁 🫖

Always great to catch up with the wonderful group of people which is 5k Your Way Northwich. A huge well done to everyone who came along.

Looking forward to next time on 25th April! Same time, same place!

What a brilliant morning for our 5k Your Way! Northwich parkrun kindly let our fabulous ambassador Liz take the mic this morning - explaining to everyone what we do - thank you!

There have been some great improvements to the course, which make it much less muddy. Well done Cheshire West and Chester Council

Most of us took the event at a relaxed walking pace, enjoying the chance to move. Some of us ran! As always, the 5k Your Way spirit shone through – no rush, no pressure, just being active together in whatever way felt right. Then (of course!) we went for tea, coffee and cakes at The Coffee House afterwards! ☕️ 🧁 🫖

World Cancer Day Meet Up

The rain held off for our special meet up for world cancer day today . The course was a bit soggy and we jumped a few puddles but it didn’t dampen our spirits. Then it was off for a coffee and catch up at The Coffee House. Our next planned meeting is on Saturday 28th February. Hope to see you there! 🚶‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🚶🏽‍♂️🍰☕️

What a brilliant morning for our 5k Your Way group at Northwich parkrun. Eight of us – plus one very enthusiastic dog – took part today, embracing the mud, the chatter, and the gentle pace that makes our meet‑ups so special.

The course was definitely on the squelchy side, with plenty of muddy patches to negotiate.

Most of us took the event at a relaxed walking pace, enjoying the chance to move. As always, the 5k Your Way spirit shone through – no rush, no pressure, just being active together in whatever way felt right.

A huge well done to everyone who came along.

As always, we went for tea, coffee and cakes afterwards! ☕️ 🧁 🫖

We are holding a special extra 5kYW next week to mark World Cancer Day. This is open to anyone around the Northwest. We hope to see plenty of you there. Everyone welcome.

The weather was very kind to us for the last 5KYW of 2025 with beautiful sunny blue skies and a chill in the air. We had runners and walkers among us to enjoy some post Christmas exercise. Many thanks to Northwich parkrun and their volunteers for putting on an excellent event.

Then we went along to coffee house #1 for a well deserved cuppa and cake.

If you fancy joining us for 5KYW in 2026 we meet on the last Saturday of the month at Northwich park run. You’ll spot us in our blue 5KYW hoodies at the Cumberland Road car park entrance to Carey Park at 8.45am.

Anyone living with and beyond cancer is welcome, family/friends too, including the fury four legged variety. We are a friendly bunch here to provide support and encouragement.

It was a bit of a soggy November 5KYW this month but we still managed to have fun. Most of us walked the full 5K, others did a shortened course and our ambassador Johnathan ran getting a good time in 👏🏻 Then we warmed up with coffee and toasted tea cakes The Coffee House next month will be the festive one!

Thanks to the amazing volunteers of Northwich parkrun who braved the rain and the cold!

Was it cold? 🥶 Yes
Was it damp? ☔️ A little bit.
Did it stop us? Of course not!

Eight of us taking part in 5k Your Way today at Northwich parkrun. Yes, the weather wasn’t the best, but it was lovely anyway. We all enjoyed the run/walk, and had a lovely chat along the way.

Of course, we went for tea, coffee and enormous teacakes at Coffee #1 Northwich afterwards!

See you all again next month.
