Our Summer holiday is over and here is our line-up of speakers at our monthly meetings for the rest of the year.

The Martini's summer holiday is almost over and the committee are already working hard on what's coming next.

We've got lots of exciting events coming up including a trip to Vietnam for our Feasting Round the World subgroup, a trip to the Queen Eleanor for Quick Supper Group, lots of yummy desserts at Pudding Club and our Craft Group will be holding their traditional poppy making session, plus much more.

The Martinis may be on our summer holidays for the month but we still have lots of activities going on. Last week our craft group met for an in-person UFO (unfinished object). Instead of our usual organised craft, everyone brought their own project to work on. We had a huge selection of crafts including knitting, crochet, sticker booking, colouring and bookmark making!

At the weekend a few of our members visited the lovely Kelmarsh Hall for a wander and a chat.

On Saturday we had our Summer meet up at Delapre Abbey. We spent over 4 hours having lunch and a chat. We covered a wide range of topics including books, holidays, current events and wellbeing. You name it and we talked about it! We had such a good time that we forgot to take any photos! The weather was perfect as it was a little bit cooler than recent days but still lovely and warm 🍸

It was a busy week last week for the Martinis. Our Pudding Club visited The C**k Inn and had a lovely time. They scored the food 9/10 and would definitely return.

Our Feasting Round the World group took a trip to Italy via Rushden where they visited La Famiglia Pizzeria & Ristorante. The food and service were great.

Finally, our Gardening Club visited Cambridge Botanical Gardens where they had a fabulous time looking at all of the plants and flowers as well as watching ducklings and baby moorhens 🦆🍸

Last week it was our monthly craft subgroup. We meet in the pub and members have the option of having dinner together before the craft or just turning up for the craft. We do a different craft each month.

This month’s craft was water colouring and the results are brilliant. Everyone had a really good time 🌸🍸

It’s 72 years today since the first Lord of the Rings book was published. The Martinis love a good book. We have a book club, The Booktinis which meets monthly at Poppyfields Farm. Members can enjoy dinner and a chat before book club or just come for the book chat 📚🍸
