A £100 deposit secures your place and choice of room (en suite or shared bathroom).
Nab Cottage is a delightful location, overlooking Rydal Water. The cottage dates back to 1556, with shrine mullioned window, creaky floorboards, a bit uneven, which all adds to the character. You cannot help but feel relaxed in this ‘oldie worlde’ setting. The rooms are cosy and probably smaller than more modern premises. There is a gorgeous fireplace, in the cosy living room.
It just adds to the charm.
We will be very well looked after by Tim and Wojek, who have lovingly cared for the cottage and its many guests for over 40 years.
The studio, set in the upper floor of the barn (converted in 1997) maintains its original stonework and has a large wood burner. The french doors open onto a decked area with seating and a view over the fell behind.
The dining room, where you will be served your continental breakfast, dinners and Sunday lunch, (packed lunch on Saturday). All will be vegetarian cuisine and is, delicious. All seated around a large dining table. Coeliacs and vegan are catered for with no extra cost, any other special dietary requirements need a £10pppd. Please let me know if you require a special diet. All meals are freshly prepared, mainly vegetarian and as much as possible organic, locally sourced and fairtrade.
There is a wood fired Hot tub for our use each morning, whether you cold water dip or prefer, first go in the tub.
All activities this weekend are optional. Cold water dip/swim is most invigorating and improves circulation and enhances well-being, but you may just prefer a lie in or the hotter waters of the hot tub!
There is internet for those who absolutely need their devices.!! Most mobile networks have signal at the cottage. There is a large TV in the downstairs room of the barn.
Nab Cottage considers the environment in all that it does, by recycling as much as possible. There are recycling bins at the end of the drive.
Downstairs, in the barn there is a toilet, with a separate toilet along side a bathroom upstairs in the cottage for rooms sharing this facility. The other rooms have en-suites.
If you wish to spend time away from the group, there is a bus (555) which runs to Ambleside and Grasmere and will stop at Nab Cottage if requested.
Treatments can be booked for Swedish and Thai massage and Shiatsu at an additional cost.
INSTRUCTORS FOR THE WEEKEND

Both Glenn and I attended the same Pilates teaching course, so we come from the same base and ethos. We have developed our own styles, teaching similar moves, but differently. We hope that you will enjoy, some of what you are used to and embrace our differing teaching styles.
Glenn has done Pilates for many years, prior to becoming a teacher. He enjoys kayaking and canoeing as his main sporting activity. Pilates helped Glenn recover from injuries such as rotator cuff tears and muscle strains. Through his knowledge, his methods help support and enhance strength around joints to prevent further injuries. Glenn, is very knowledgeable about back conditions and how best to strengthen and improve mobility generally.

Me, Nicky, I’m a netballer, from the age of 7! I love team sports and have played rugby, tennis and hockey, but my first love is always netball. I still play, despite breaking my arm rather badly last May, requiring an operation. I took up pilates prior to my first hip replacement, training as a teacher, 5 weeks after my other hip was done. Pilates has helped me recover from these major surgeries and has allowed me to continue playing netball. It has also helped my clients, who have had similar operations and other injuries and existing conditions like osteoarthritis, colitis and high blood pressure.
