We have a lot of new people joining the page and just lately we have been asked a lot of what we as a club are about and a few people saying they never knew about us until they were attending a match for their friend and so on so we would like to take this opportunity to tell those who don't know a bit about ourselves.
We were formed three years ago with the aim of playing around 6 matches a year to help support local North West Charities and to help those in need in our communities across the region,we knew we as a club had potential to grow as we went on but in all honesty we didn't realise how quickly this would happen .
We have played around 20 matches now and have handed over £273,000 to local charities and another £160,000 made for local businesses with purchasing kits ,bar and food sales ,trophy suppliers and so on .
We have also handed out tons of food toys and clothing to those who needed a little helping hand in life .
Every single member at our club are volunteers and don't take a penny which means 100% of everything we make goes to the charities we play for and our volunteers even pay their own fuel costs etc to come to our matches.
We have over 40 volunteers involved at the club both on and off the park and we are proud of the fact that the majority have been here since day one with great people added along the way ,one thing we are extremely proud of is that some players in charity football maybe turn up to play a one off match and you may never see them again but not here because they come to play and stay because they love what we do ,they see the camaraderie and they stay and this makes us so proud as a club
We mix our team up with various ex professional footballers, semi pro footballers, Saturday and Sunday local players and we have 3 ex international players in our squad and the bond between these lads is humbling to see .
We have been asked to roll our project across other regions throughout the country and we will soon be starting up our ladies team, this is down to the hard work by everyone connected to our club .
We started the club with not one penny ,we didn't even have a ball so to come this far in a short time is incredible and this is down to you the public and to many great businesses who believed in us and helped so much to get us to where we stand today and we are forever grateful to everyone of you for your support shown to the club.
Each September we put out a shout for fixtures for the following season and these are normally booked up within a day ,but we do keep a couple of spare dates in the diary for emergency charity matches, and the good news is we are looking to expand our fixtures to 8 games a year from 2027 due to the demand with people reaching out for help and support.
We as a club will do whatever we can to help as many people as we can no matter what, sometimes it's not always possible but if we can help we will and not just through football, if someone Is genuinely struggling to feed themselves or needs some clothing for job interviews or a blanket for the winter months then get in touch and this will be treated in strict confidence, if we can't help we will lead you to great people and charities who can .
Our motto at the club is ....Never Look Down On Anybody Unless It's To Help Lift Them Up,We Rise By Lifting Others.....and we sincerely thank every single person who have lifted us and the charities or individual we have supported these past 3 years and each of you are one of us because without you then together we can't do what we do .
Our club is your club One Community
We Rise By Lifting Others
