I started playing the drums over 20 years ago as a hobby. I am self taught, but I have taken lessons over time and I am always looking for ways to improve. During this time I have performed in churches, weddings and private functions. I am influenced by different musical styles, from Afrobeats, Gospel, Pop, Soul, Jazz to Swing. What these styles have in common is attention to technique, performanc

e and improvisation. As a tutor, my aim is to help potential drummers gain confidence to develop the basic skills, practice habits and experience a sense of music inspired fun. I focus on helping new drummers to learn good technique when playing drums, including good stick techniques as they transform into confident performers. If you are interested in grading, I have the experience of providing guidance through the early stages, and preparation for the exams. I am currently a member of the Crystal Palace Band, where I play the drums and a range of percussion instruments.
