Work on rebuilding the front end is making huge progress. The front end has been pulled square, a new front section welded in, new timing gear, cam pulleys and a new aluminium high capacity radiator and bigger intercooler fitted.

Looking to focus on Sprints, Hill Climbs and track based events next year.

Car fires up today - new cam pulleys on order, to replace the OEM Bakelite ones.

Up-rated intercooler and radiator to be fitted next. An engine rebuild (350-450 BHP) for Hill Climbs is definitely on the wish list now.

I’m happy with 2nd in class 2 of the NI Championship - I think I would have felt unworthy if I’d got 1st just because I entered more events.

Graeme Nesbitt deserved 1st, but chuffed with second and over the moon for Chris getting 1st for Navigator/Co-Driver in Class 2.

We will be back stronger and faster next year.

I swear they hide gigantic electro magnets in the concrete gate posts 🤣

Started 90th and was up to 80 after Stage 1. Halfway through Stage 2 and after having g passed the worst of the jumps, we landed awkwardly after a crest, hit a silage bale a glancing
Blow that tipped us into a slide into a gate post - ouch.

Crushed intercooler pipe and car has electrical power but won’t start.

Radiator, intercooler and engine all I one piece - so just need to get front end pulled out and bonnet straightened.

I have spare lights but need an intercooler connector pipe.

Could have been a lot worse! Best bit is Chris and I are both safe.

All to play for this weekend - steady away again I think. Looks to be wet / damp conditions after a prolonged dry spell.

Discretion being the better part of valour and all that. My codrive has already won Class 2 (well done Chris) so it’s all on me to keep it between the hedges and on the grey blur!

Great day at Loughall Stages. Car ran very well. Anti Lag made a big difference and handling much improved with new wishbones and rear control arms fitted.

Picked up valuable championship points on what is a notorious ‘car wrecker’ event.

8-DNF out of 62 entries and lots of excursions into the scenery!

Hopefully we have secured our position as second in class in the NI Tarmac Championship.

As ever, big thanks to Chris on the Pace Notes - keeping me right.

Big shout out to the team at MDS Accident Repair for getting the car back together (and better than before) ready for the Loughall Stages.

Stages are very slippy so ‘driving miss Daisy’ to start with.
