Why the lion and the ram?

You might have noticed a couple of characters cropping up in our Makerfield Oktoberfest branding…

And they're not there by accident!

🦁 The lion represents Ashton-in-Makerfield, home of Ashton Scouts and the venue for our Oktoberfest.

🐏 The ram represents Newton-le-Willows, home of Newton-Le-Willows Rotary Club

We've brought the two together because that's exactly what Makerfield Oktoberfest is about: two local organisations, from neighbouring communities, joining forces to put on something new.

And hopefully raising plenty of money for good causes while we're at it. ❤️

So when you see our lion and ram raising a glass together, now you know why. 🍺

But we need to know… are you Team Lion 🦁 or Team Ram 🐏?

🍺 Welcome to Makerfield Oktoberfest! 🍺

Something new is coming to Makerfield this October...

On Friday 16th & Saturday 17th October, Newton-Le-Willows Rotary Club and Ashton B**r & C***r Festival are joining forces for the very first Makerfield Oktoberfest!

Expect 20 b**rs on tap, c***r, spirits, live entertainment and a proper festival atmosphere, all while raising money to support local good causes.

Over the next few weeks we'll be revealing the b**rs, entertainment and everything else we've got planned.

This is a brand-new event and a brand-new page, so we'd love your help getting the word out.

Out supporting our friends at Ashton B**r & C***r Festival

A fantastic event with a brilliant selection of b**rs and c***rs, a great atmosphere, and plenty of friendly faces.

If you enjoy a good b**r festival, it’s definitely one to add to your list. There’s nothing better than seeing local events like this bringing people together and celebrating great breweries.

And just like that… it’s on the move 🚛

The marquee that held the noise, the laughter, the music, and more than a few “just one more” moments is heading off… leaving behind nothing but a car park and a lot of memories.

A massive thank you to the team at Mahood Marquees - Marquee Hire

What you see here is the final act, but what they built for us over the week was the stage for everything that made the festival what it was.

Early starts, long days, and a level of graft that doesn’t go unnoticed.

We turn up and pour pints… they create the world we do it in.

So from all of us, thank you 👏
