Full time at Druid Park this morning ended with a 2-2 draw to Corbridge United FC in our first league game in the Hexham & District 2025/26 season.
The lads went behind due to a goal from the spot from Corbridge and we couldn’t quite get the ball over the line as the half ended 0-1 despite us having the better chances.
Second half was much better as our .neville equalised with a piercing run through the middle of the pitch before put us in front with a quality finish into the top right hand corner as the lads looked to complete the comeback.
Unfortunately it wasn’t to be as Corbridge equalised late on into the second half and the lads couldn’t find that final breakthrough late on, despite a late penalty appeal waved off from the referee. Definitely feels like two points dropped however spirits are high and the lads fought exceptionally well in our first league game as a club, as we continue to improve as a team. Onto Sunday where we travel to a strong Prudhoe team.
