Season Report: DHFC U13 Kings
Last September saw our lads don the maroon fabrics for the first time in an exciting home draw that showed our spectators how competitive we expect the season to be. But after a few massive signings in the off season, we knew big things would come from this side.
We saw our first cup game victory in our third game of the season and with the mentality the lads displayed in this game we knew we could have a good run. Triumph in both first rounds of the cups was followed with an 8 game unbeaten streak, putting us in a great league position and sending us to a semi-final in both cups too!
January began a tough period of games for the boys, bowing out of their first semi-final, before facing a league defeat and then another league defeat. But this only spurred the lads on to set the record straight. We dug deep in a dominating performance early March, had one last blip with a defeat mid-March before losing our second cup semi-final, and so began our steamroll until the final game…
From game week 12 until game week 19, our record was as followed: WWWWWWWW - with a whopping 42 goals scored across our 8 victory-streak. The lads played their absolute hearts out, and clinched promotion with the final game of the season in an emphatic win that will be remembered!
These boys have worked their socks off this season and done themselves and the club proud, and we can not wait to see where next season takes us! A massive thank you to the players for showing up raring every week, and to the parents for being so positive and encouraging our lads to achieve their goals. ❤️
