SA Sports School End of Year Awards 🛡️

SA Sports is delighted to announce the arrival of our nine End of Year Award Shields, designed to celebrate both outstanding individual achievements alongside collective school sporting success across the SA Sports Network.

A massive thank you to South-Down Engraving & Trophies for the fantastic shields.

Of the nine awards, six will recognise exceptional individual contributions, while three will honour whole school achievements.

For now, we’re keeping the details to ourself. We look forward to presenting these prestigious awards in July and celebrating the incredible accomplishments of the pupils and schools throughout this academic year.

Which of the 21 schools will it be? Stay tuned…

Following the deadline of this years Basketball league, we are delighted to confirm the final positions of the league table!

Congratulations to John Rankin on the league title as well as all students from St Finian's and Calcot too that took part in this throughout the year!

We look forward to awarding John Rankin with their league trophy as well as welcoming many more schools to next years league!

Basildon vs John Rankin

A lovely afternoon for our last cup final of the year! Thank you to Basildon for hosting today’s fixture.

Basildon 5 - 1 John Rankin

This was an excellent game of football to referee, with both teams displaying outstanding attitude, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the match. Every player involved should be extremely proud of their performance.

Congratulations to Basildon, who were presented with the winners’ medals and the cup following a composed and skilful performance from start to finish.

SA Sports were also delighted to award the following Player of the Match certificates:

John Rankin – Emily
Fantastic attitude and work-rate from start to finish. Never let her head drop. Always had a fantastic eye for a pass. Contributed in both defence and attack as well as captaining her team superbly.

Basildon – Liv
An energetic and determined performance, consistently showing a desire to win possession, drive forward down her wing with the ball and test the goalkeeper on several occasions. Her work rate throughout the game was exceptional.

Congratulations to all involved. We look forward to welcoming even more schools to this exciting knockout cup competition next year.

SA Sports Dodgeball League 2025-26 🔴

Following the deadline of this years Dodgeball league, we are delighted to confirm the final positions of the league table!

Congratulations to Fir Tree on the league title as well as all students from St Finian's, Winchcombe and John Rankin that took part in this throughout the year!

What an incredible day! 117 students from 7 primary schools took to Crookham Athletic Track today for the Y3/4 Track Day.

From individual sprints to relay races, the young athletes gave it their all, across distances of 800m, 400m, 200m and 90m alongside relays for boys, girls and mixed gender in the latter three distances.

🥇 1st – Battle 95pts
🥈 2nd – Basildon 93pts
🥉 3rd – John Rankin 92pts
4th – Hungerford 85pts
5th – Falkland 80pts
6th – Speenhamland 61pts
7th - Winchcombe 43pts

We also ensured we recorded the quickest time for each distance & gender, allowing us to save these as records, ready to beat at next years event!

A fantastic afternoon of running, with only 15 points in between 1st and 5th, just proving how close of a contest the day was! Well done to Battle, for narrowly taking home the victory and trophy as well as a big congratulations to everyone involved in today’s event!

Year 1/2 & Year 3/4 Tag Rugby Festival 🏉

Tuesday 16th June 2026 📅

A fantastic early evening of tag rugby, with 74 students taking to the pitch from 6 local primary schools, participating in a tag rugby festival, gaining valuable game time, knowledge and memories… ran by SA Sports, hosted by Thatcham Rugby Club.

A huge well done to the squads from Francis Baily, Pangbourne, St Finian's, Bradfield, Compton & Parsons Down for a tremendous afternoon of tag rugby- two of which was their first SA Sports event!
Great fun, learning and sportsmanship was shown by everyone.

A special thank you to all the Thatcham RFC coaches and players, who voluntarily gave up their time to referee, set up/pack away and assist in running the event!

We look forward to a bright future with Thatcham RFC, with many events already lined up next year, as well as running our first holiday camp at their amazing facilities!
