Back in Newark after an unforgettable weekend in Edinburgh! We’re coming home with 5 medals from 2 days — 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze! 🥇🥈🥉 Much more than we expected! Full results and stories will follow soon.

But the main thing I want to say in this post isn’t about the medals or the results.

The weekend also brought an unexpected and frightening moment when Josh became unwell on Saturday morning and needed urgent hospital care. At that point, foosball and the competition really didn’t matter. The only important thing was Josh and knowing he was being looked after. He’s not just someone who came away to play with us — he’s part of our team and a fantastic person to have around. Josh, all of us are thinking of you, wishing you all the very best and hoping to see you back with us soon. ❤️

A special mention to Jacek, who stayed by his side throughout the day, putting his friend before the tournament. Top man and a top friend. ❤️

To our Foosball in Edinburgh hosts — thank you for having us! Fantastic hosts, fantastic people, and people we can now call friends. You’re always welcome down in Newark too!

And thank you to everyone who cheered us on from home. It genuinely meant a lot. ❤️

Five of us from Newark Foosball Club are heading north to 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐡 in September! 💜⚽

George • Adam • Josh • Jacek • Géza

We’ll be putting our skills to the test across Open Doubles, Amateur Doubles and Monster Draw-Your-Partner at Edinburgh Challenger IV.

It’s another opportunity to compete against players from further afield, experience a bigger event, learn, improve and, just as importantly, meet more people from the foosball community.

We’re going there to compete, enjoy every minute of it and represent Newark together. Whatever the results, it should be one brilliant weekend of foosball. 💪
