Race: RunThrough East Yorkshire Half Marathon
Date: Sunday 21 June 2026

What a performance from Eva Davidson at the RunThrough East Yorkshire Half Marathon — a huge PB, 2nd place overall, and another massive marker of just how well she is running right now.

Eva came into this one in fantastic form, but this was still a big step up — and she absolutely delivered. After a superb block of racing through the Summer League and Gordon Welbourn series, the goal was to turn that sharpness into a strong half marathon performance.

And she did exactly that.

A sub-1:40 attempt was the target, but Eva didn’t just sneak under it — she smashed through it, running 1:35:04 and taking nearly 10 minutes off her PB. That is a huge breakthrough and shows how much her fitness, confidence, strength, and race ex*****on have moved on.

This performance wasn’t a one-off. It’s the result of consistent training, smart racing, and a brilliant ability to keep showing up, adapting, and improving.

2nd place, a massive PB, and a performance that completely changes the level Eva now knows she belongs at.

From Paris Marathon strength to 5K series wins, and now a 1:35 half marathon — this is turning into a brilliant season.

Big PB, big confidence, and a runner moving to another level.

The biggest win here is not just the time — it’s the size of the breakthrough. Eva came in targeting sub-1:40 and left with 1:35:04, which shows the training is transferring brilliantly. Now the job is to recover well, absorb the result, and use this as the new benchmark moving forward. RunThrough | Running Events & Community

Athlete: Hannah Harding
Race: Windermere Marathon
Date: 14th June 2026
Hannah completed Windermere marathon which was never going to be an easy day out, and this year was no exception. Known for its relentless hills and stunning scenery, it’s a course that demands patience, strength, and smart pacing which Hannah delivered exactly that as planned.

Crossing the line in 3:55:39, Hannah put together a strong, disciplined run on one of the toughest marathon courses in the UK. On a route where the elevation can punish anyone who goes out too hard, she managed the terrain brilliantly, staying composed through the long climbs and making the most of the descents.

Her effort earned her 17th female overall, a result that reflects both her fitness and resilience. Windermere isn’t necessarily a course for chasing flat course PBs it’s a test of grit, and Hannah rose to it with another sub 4 this year.

A sub 4 on this course is a great achievement. To place in the top 20 women on such a demanding profile makes it even more impressive. A performance built on toughness, smart ex*****on, and determination.

A brilliant day’s work and proof that hilly marathons build strong marathoners like Hannah Harding ! Well done Hannah 🥳

RUNSHACK RACE REPORT

Athlete: Kev Pounder
Race: Grimsby 10K

This was another brilliant run from Kev — a proper, clean 10K PB built on control, toughness, and a seriously strong finish. Progress keeps stacking.

Time: 38:12 (chip)
Pace: 6:09/mi average (≈ 3:49/km)
Age Group: 18th
PB context: Clear new benchmark (Leeds Abbey Dash 39:49; Derby was short)

Kev executed this like a runner who knows exactly what he’s doing. The splits were impressive — around 6:09/mi for most of the race — which is the hallmark of a strong 10K: controlled early, locked-in rhythm through the middle, and enough left to compete late.

Conditions made it a real race rather than a perfect time-trial. A headwind forced honest adjustments (pace nudging from the low 6:00s toward ~6:25 in the exposed sections), and the warmth added extra cost — Kev responded exactly how you want: stayed loose, stayed composed, and kept working.

Then the finish: strides to the line and three overtakes. That’s not just fitness — that’s confidence and race fitness.

A new PB, a clear progression marker, and another step forward in Kev’s 10K development. The best part? He’s run fast without forcing it, handled the conditions well, and still finished like a racer. That combination is what leads to the next jump.

Controlled ex*****on. Strong finish. Another level unlocked.

RunShack Race Report –

Athlete: Matthew Naisbit
Race: EMGP Harborough 5 Mile
Result: 27:49

From train delays, petrol station kit changes and a 15-minute dash to the start line… to a strong, composed 27:49 over a tough undulating course.

Not the smoothest race-day build-up, but Matthew still got himself there, switched on, and delivered.

* Ex*****on: Strong, controlled, tactically better
* Key takeaway: Best race craft of the series so far

This one started before the gun even went.

Matthew was racing back from London, dealing with multiple train delays, then ended up changing from work clothes into race kit in a petrol station toilet just to make the start line. Not exactly the calm, textbook pre-race routine — but sometimes racing is about adapting, getting there, and committing anyway.

With only a short window to warm up, he got himself onto the start line and focused on the job: race the course properly.

The big difference this time was how he used what he had learned from the previous EMGP races. He knew the course profile mattered. He knew the hills could not just be “survived” — he had to work off them, re-engage pace, and keep momentum moving.

And that’s exactly what he did.

He felt good, worked hard throughout, and stayed mentally connected to the race. Rather than letting the climbs break rhythm, he thought about where to push, where to hold, and where to restart the effort once the harder sections passed.

That is proper race craft.

A 27:49 on an undulating 5-mile course, off a chaotic build-up, is a really strong result.

The most pleasing part is not just the time — it’s the ex*****on. Compared with earlier races in the series, this had more intent, more awareness, and a better tactical response to the course.

Matthew is learning how to race these courses, not just run them. That will pay off.

Race sharpness is not just fitness — it’s staying switched on when the course, conditions and chaos try to knock you out of rhythm.

Athlete: Eva Davidson
Event: Gordon Welbourn 5k Series
Date: Mon–Fri (5 consecutive evenings)

Five nights. Five 5Ks. One outcome: Eva dominated the week and won the overall series — a masterclass in racing sharp, recovering fast, and showing up again and again.

* Overall series champion
* 5 races in 5 days (Mon–Fri)
* Key strength: repeatable performance under accumulating fatigue
* Big take-away: confidence, speed, and race-craft all trending up

This wasn’t just about running one good 5k — it was about stacking quality across a whole week. Eva raced with discipline: doing enough each night to stay competitive, managing the in-between recovery, and keeping her head when the legs inevitably got heavy. That ability to reproduce performance on tired legs is a serious skill, and it’s exactly the kind of robustness that transfers into longer goals later in the season.

Winning a series like this is proof of real form — not a one-off, but a week of consistent ex*****on. Series win secured, confidence banked, and a great platform for the next phase.

🇬🇧 ENGLAND VEST. HALF MARATHON PB. 🇬🇧

Some performances mean a little bit more.

At the Swansea Half Marathon, Dan Wheat made his England Masters debut and delivered a superb run of 1:14:26, taking a significant chunk off his previous half marathon best and finishing 10th V40 against a very strong international field.

This wasn’t a result that appeared overnight.

Over the last few months Dan has consistently put together quality training week after week. Threshold sessions, track work, long runs, parkrun efforts, 5k races and plenty of aerobic mileage have all contributed to building the fitness required to compete at this level.

Recent performances suggested something special was coming. A 16:16 Mid Cheshire 5k, strong threshold sessions around 3:30/km pace, and excellent consistency in training all pointed towards a breakthrough run over the half marathon distance.

The biggest challenge wasn’t just the distance or the competition—it was the occasion itself.

Pulling on an England vest for the first time brings pressure, expectation and excitement. Dan handled it brilliantly, racing with confidence and composure from start to finish against some of the strongest masters athletes in the country.

To leave Swansea with a new PB, a top-10 V40 finish, and a successful first England appearance is a fantastic achievement and a deserved reward for months of hard work.

This feels like another significant step forward and shows there is still plenty more to come.

England vest on. PB delivered. Mission accomplished. TeamEngland RoadRunning HalfMarathon RunningCoach UKRunning

RunShack Race Report

Athlete: Sina Pournouri
Race: Manchester Half Marathon

Sometimes the result means more than just the time.

90:54. Fourth fastest half marathon ever. Fastest since the injury.

A year ago, Sina was dealing with the uncertainty that comes with a significant injury setback. There were periods where running fast wasn’t the priority — running comfortably again was. Like every athlete coming back from injury, there were questions, frustrations, and days where progress felt slow.

On Sunday in Manchester, those months of patience, consistency, and smart training came together.

Time: 1:30:54
Fastest half marathon since injury
4th fastest half marathon of his career
Reward for months of consistent training

This wasn’t built on one great session or one great week.

It was built through consistent training blocks, sensible decisions when niggles appeared, adapting around calf issues, trusting the process, and repeatedly showing up when life and circumstances could easily have become distractions.

The last few weeks had provided some real confidence:

HM pace blocks inside long runs
Strong tempo sessions
Excellent endurance work
Consistency that had been missing during the injury period

The fitness was there.

Manchester was simply the opportunity to express it.

Running 90:54 doesn’t just demonstrate speed. It demonstrates resilience. It demonstrates patience. It demonstrates what can happen when an athlete commits to the long game and keeps believing when progress isn’t always linear.

There will always be races where the clock matters.

This was one where the journey mattered just as much.

Back racing. Back competing. Back running at a level that not long ago felt uncertain.

Sometimes the biggest victories aren’t the PBs — they’re proving to yourself that you’re back.
