Alongside them, Andy Patton and James Cassidy also play important supporting roles, ensuring that every student benefits from a well-rounded team of instructors. Shinkikai SKC was created by instructors who left Newark SKC after becoming disillusioned with the politics and outdated thinking that were holding back both students and the art itself. With a shared vision of progress, respect, and development, our instructors established Shinkikai Dojo as a fresh start – one focused on karate that is modern, relevant, and rooted in strong values. With growing numbers, an excellent training atmosphere, and a track record of competition success, Shinkikai SKC is establishing itself as a dojo to watch. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome, whether you are looking to build confidence, improve fitness, compete at a high level, or simply enjoy learning traditional karate in a positive setting. The dust has settled and Shaun Sensei is back in the UK from the HDKI Ireland Open National Championships!!

After a tough route in the heats, he made it to the final!

And what a final it was! After 2 time extensions he was down by 2 wazari, in the closing second he managed to ippon his opponent to bring it back level to take it to sudden death!

Where he was finally beaten by the better fighter!!

With no less than 2 silver medals he has brought back to the dojo! We are all so proud of you leading the way forward!!

Great lower grades class this week!!

Chris sensei took the students who are grading at the end of the month, doing the final preparations!

Whilst James sensei ran through kumite drills and combinations!!

As you can see we had the new crash mat out during the races!!

A huge thankyou to Paul Powers and Bob Hague for the kind donation to the club!

Equipment like this will be well used and provide invaluable training opportunities for our students!!
