Hello everyone, the club will be taking a break during October so there will be no sessions for a month. We will be back on the 9th of November. This means next week's session will be the last for a short bit so come down to practice! If not, see folks again in November!

Great session today with two new faces.

Today I worked with one of our students for a short bit on keeping distance at varying speeds. This is to get them used to moving more dynamically, changing speeds to ensure their opponent does not retreat away or advance into them while also being ready to attack when the que is given.

We are on next week, so if you're looking to get in more fencing or are looking to try out historical fencing, please do come.

(I tried to get my phone to produce a nice bokeh effect but I did not have the space to get far enough nor does my phone have the focus range 😞)

Two weeks ago, Tea Kew taught a small sword workshop for Kings of the North 2023, on finding good moments to launch an attack. The full class notes can now be downloaded from Tea's website here:https://www.fechtlehre.org/tea/handouts/kotn-moments.pdf

Tea's next teaching engagements will be the May Melee (UK), HEMAC Dijon XX (France) and SERFO (USA).
