A great game this morning—unlucky not to come away with at least a draw.
We started brightly, pressing Balloch high and forcing mistakes. That pressure paid off in the 12th minute when Charlie’s throw found Ethan, who finished brilliantly from a tight angle.
Balloch levelled on 17 minutes after a long ball caught us out, and although Max cleared well, they reacted quickest to the second ball and scored from distance.
Chances came at both ends before Balloch went ahead, again first to the second ball and finding space in the box. But we finished the half strongly to retake the lead—Dami ran onto Joseph’s long free kick to score on 29 minutes, and just before the break Finn picked up a clearance on halfway, drove forward, and struck from outside the box.
Balloch came out strong in the second half, but Max made some excellent saves to keep us ahead until they equalised in the 48th minute.
The final 20 minutes were tight, with chances for both sides, but Balloch grabbed the winner in the 69th minute, reacting first to a loose ball in the box.
A strong team performance and disappointing not to take at least a point our attacking play deserved.
Player of the week goes to Charlie for a composed defensive display—reading the game well and driving us forward from right back.
