This week's edition of Meet the Supporter features one of our former players, David Evans.

Since retiring from bowls, David has enjoyed spending quality time with his family and proudly supporting his incredibly talented grandchildren in all their sporting achievements.

Alongside his wife, Wynne, you'll also regularly see him cheering on Pontrhydyfen from the sidelines.
David has given outstanding service to bowls, serving as West Glamorgan Secretary for over 30 years, as well as Assistant Welsh Secretary. His dedication and commitment to the sport, both on and off the green, have been exceptional. 👏

A Carruthers Shield winner with Pontrhydyfen, David was always a solid and consistent performer on the green, and one of our finest players at third and second.
Most importantly, David is one of the kindest and most genuine people you could ever hope to meet.

Pontrhydyfen hit the road to Merthyr Tydfil tomorrow, looking to keep our league momentum going.
Thomastown are a young and talented side, and we're looking forward to our first-ever meeting. It promises to be a great contest.

Pontrhydyfen welcomed Penygraig to the Bont this afternoon in the sunshine 🌞

At the halfway stage, all four rinks were ahead and continued to build on that momentum throughout the match. It was a competitive game played in a fantastic atmosphere.

Pontrhydyfen went on to win on all four rinks, securing the maximum 14 points.
Congratulations to all the boys on a terrific victory!

Thank you to Penygraig for a competitive match. We look forward to meeting again later in the season and wish you all the very best for the remainder of your season.

Pontrhydyfen Bowls Club would like to thank bowls friends throughout the community for the many messages of condolence received over the past week.
Reading your kind words and tributes has brought some comfort to Ellis and the family, and has been a reflection of how well-loved and respected Eiron was by so many.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Croesyceiliog BC for their kindness and hospitality last Saturday.
We wish everyone at Croesyceiliog Bowls Club the very best of luck in the next round of the Carruthers.

Attention now turns to our first home fixture of June. Pontrhydyfen and Penygraig both remain unbeaten this season, setting up what promises to be a highly competitive encounter.
Why not come down and support the Bont🧃☀️ Refreshments will be available, and with the sun expected to shine, it should be a fantastic afternoon of bowls.

Congratulations to Jamie Flynn on reaching the incredible milestone of 100 caps for West Glamorgan County yesterday. This is a brilliant achievement and a testament to your dedication and commitment. Well done Jamie! 👏

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our much-loved member, Eiron Thomas, at the age of 55.

As a club, we are deeply shocked and devastated by his loss.

Eiron was a dedicated and highly respected member of Pontrhydyfen Bowls Club.
A true clubman in every sense of the word, he gave countless hours of his time and energy to the club, serving in a number of important roles, including Club Captain, Treasurer, Selector, and Team Manager of the West Glamorgan Academy.

On the green, Eiron enjoyed many successes throughout his bowling career. He was an outstanding county bowler for many years and proudly represented his country as a Welsh Junior International.
Among his many achievements, he was a National Triples Champion alongside Jeff and David Wilkins and a proud Carruthers Shield winner.
Off the green, Eiron was a great friend to everyone. He made a lasting impact within the clubhouse and created memories that many of us will cherish forever. There are countless stories from club tours, carruthers shield victories, and good times shared together.

You could not wish for a better friend than Eiron. He was loyal, supportive, caring and always a great sense of humour especially when enjoying a few drinks among friends.
Eirion will be greatly missed by everyone at Pontrhydyfen Bowls Club, as he was a true friend to so many and a valued member of our community.

Our heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences are extended to his wife Justine, his children Ellis and Eve, Parents Marilyn and Ron, Sister Rhian and his extended family.

Pontrhydyfen travelled to Rhoose this afternoon and battled through challenging windy conditions to get the win.

A big thank you to everyone at Rhoose BC for their warm hospitality throughout the day. We wish the club all the very best for the remainder of the season.
