SOCCER STARLETS introduces 'GIRLS ONLY' to play Football in our Fun , None-Pressurised Environment.

Soccer Starlets was created in 2020 to help try introduce far more Girl participation into playing football aged between 5 - 14 years old for Morley / surrounding area's. We welcome new beginners including those who already play football within Grassroots to further developing their footballing skills & techniques via our ball mastery skills & in game scenarios to help them when they play competit

ive matches. We also promote Multi Sports & Activities to help keep our participants happy, which is much needed post side of the Covid era. Over this period, there has been so much interest that 2 X Grassroots Girls teams have been created along with 4 X amazing parents we are now fully Qualified Coaches & when available even co-coach our Soccer Starlets sessions. (We have other girls who have gone onto progress & playing for other local Grassroots Clubs)

SOCCER STARLETS last ever classes came to a final close this week, along with a few tears 😭

Literally 💔 saying a final goodbye on the night to everyone in person receiving lovely gifts, parents text's & 🙏 cards, written by the kids (tough read lol)

(5 years journey picture frame of memories is priceless ❤️)

To every coach, parent & child that's ever been associated with us, a huge thank you to you all, as we wouldn't have ran as long as we did !

On 12th February, the amazing Lee Howarth of Morley Futsal Club will take on every child under his wing & I guarantee he will improve their ability immensely & more importantly keep their friendship bonds running at Morley Leisure Centre

(Plenty of spaces 5-9 & 9-14 year olds every Thursday !)

Personal note...my coaching days of 10 years at Grassroots Football UK are now finally over, but will forever take the best experience I could have ever hoped for, including lifelong pals.

Best & main advice I can give to a new coach, is to give every player equal game as much as possible, as the kids & coaches reap the rewards in the long run 👍

Personally preferred to coach loyal local kids, that turned up every week & gave their best in training & match days.

Chasing out of town talent to win a shiny 🏆 was never my bag.

Brilliant news to kick-start the week on 🙏

Morley Futsal Club's Lee Howarth, has amazingly asked to continue our SOCCER STARLETS girls, supported with our brilliant long standing coaches Danny & Daz, who've are also instrumental making this happen ❤️

The girls are very lucky having personally seen Lee's coaching & leadership both at Futsal & Grassroots, they won't be coached with anyone any better !

Lee's very well known across Morley & surrounding areas & a previous winner at WF3 Kindness awards, for his contribution to Sport, creating life-time memories for kids 💪

SOCCER STARLETS in years past, we've played matches with each other & recently a good few have taken the leap by playing competitive games on Sunday in a Futsal league for Morley Futsal Club.

29th January will be our last one, then these legends will carry the baton Starting 👇

5-6PM (5-9 year old's)
6-7pm (9-14 year old's)

SOCCER STARLETS penultimate classes for both Age Groups were competitive games from start to finish.

First up was our younger group who played 2 V 2, followed by an all in game at the end.

As ever they played some decent stuff, just need to work on bit more on finding space when looking to receive a pass when in possession, bar that everyone was great !

Our 2nd group had one big game & was a top effort from both set of teams. We saw nice build up play from the defense onto the forwards where they finished off the move with accurate strikes on target.

Our 2nd group had Elina & Isla as our Starlets of the week as our standout players from their teams 🥇🥇

GREAT NEWS for our players where rightly A SOLE POST on this will be revealed on Monday AM all thanks to amazing men working hard behind the scenes !

Speak VERY SOON on this but in the meantime good luck in your matches this weekend & please try & play with smiles on your faces 😊

After a nice Christmas break our SOCCER STARLETS girl groups returned for their first 2026 classes at Morley Leisure Centre

Our 5–9-year-olds worked on their dribbling skills followed by 2 v 2 then an all in game at the end.

They were all great & deservedly awarded a medal for both their effort & engagement.

Our older group of 9 -14 followed & played one big game & the hour flew which says it all.

On a really sad note, I had to deliver the hardest football conversation to date, to our amazing Starlets parents😢

My work & personal circumstances have now changed & with this I can no longer commit the time & effort to plan their sessions to help them continue.

Regrettably, our remaining January classes will be our last 💔

Be rest assured, behind the scenes there is some fantastic people working hard to try keep you all together to continue your rapid progression, but will expand more once something has been set in concrete 🙏

(End of Jan, I'll will write a post that our girls deserve)

SOCCER STARLETS had their🎄Christmas Party 🎄last night & was nice to see lots of happy faces🙂

Massive thankyou to our forever host Mark at Morley Services who we can't recommend enough by providing a great venue with top notch food for us all including a bouncy castle which went down a storm 🙌

We cant thank the kids & parents enough for attending our weekly classes as it's such a pleasure seeing them gel as pals as well as improving their footy skills in both playing & listening.

Last but not least our coaching team of James Gannon Darren Dazzler Milburn Danny Shiels & Ewan Brook, as our classes wouldn't be possible without their help & knowledge.

And that's a wrap for SOCCER STARLETS classes for 2025 that included Full numbered matches & shooting practice at both

Every week both Groups continued to give their best & we can see week on week nice improvement, but most of all its seeing them bond as pals, forming lovely friendships ❤️

Awaiting them is next Friday's Christmas Party which will finish their Year off on a high 🎄🎅🎂🎊🎉

This weeks Tuesday & Thursday SOCCER STARLETS classes were a mix of both shooting practice & rotational mini matches & everyone of them gave their best by listening & effort.

Just ace to hear then clearly see many of our new additions have been practicing in their own spare time & are now using different parts of their feet when dribbling & now have full control of the ball at various speeds 😍

Alice won our Starlet of the week in recognition of this 🥇& for our Thursday class Lily was outstanding in all areas & deserved Thursdays🥇with tackling, passing & scoring with almost scoring every attempt ⚽⚽⚽
(Taylor finally received her overdue medal🥇)

Footage of the last classes of November where the girls concentrated on shooting drills & mini matches.

Violet received her deserved 🥇in Tuesday class & for Thursday's standouts were Levani & Taylor along with the rest of the group.

Great to hear Isla banged in a hat-trick over the weekend ⚽⚽⚽so hopefully some of our shooting drills are helping to keep calmer when in front of goal 🙏

Hope to see again you all this week so we can go again building on from last weeks efforts 💪

Well done to all our SOCCER STARLETS players this week was great to be back to after court floor refurbs at Morley Leisure Centre.
(Both classes run 6-7pm)

Tuesday's 5-9 year olds focused on shooting practice but more importantly getting a good close 1st touch inside a zone before they shot on goal.

Was very happy as most were soon on.

They then played match up games + then a big one at the end to finish off with.

Well done to Alice was our Starlet of the week 🥇

Our Thursday class played timed round robin games followed off by a big game at the end.

Big well done to Emily who was our Starlet of the week who was chosen by Danny Shiels .

SOCCER STARLETS started off November with a JOINED AGE Group team bonding Party at Jump Inc by AirHop Adventure & Trampoline Park Leeds trying a new activity to help keep them fit & healthy

This would never be possible without the amazing support from The National Lottery Community Fund making this happen.

SOCCER STARLETS October classes came to a close after impressing our coaching team by executing information on break outs then by applying them in game play.
