🥋 WHY DOES IT MATTER WHERE YOU TRAIN?

Judo is more than throws and medals—it’s about respect, discipline, and personal growth. But if you want your achievements to be nationally recognised and open the door to official competition pathways, who you train with and where matters.

🇬🇧 The British Judo Association (BJA) is the National Governing Body for judo in Great Britain and the recognised pathway for official grading and competition. Through BJA-affiliated clubs, members can work towards recognised grades and compete at local, area and national events, with opportunities to progress through the recognised talent pathways England offer, meaning representing GBR around the world and making the commonwealth games, European cups, world championships and the Olympics.

At GB Top Team Judo Club, we are proud to provide:
✅ Qualified and certified coaching
✅ A strong safeguarding culture
✅ First Aid and medical provision at training
✅ A safe, inclusive and professional environment
✅ Coaching that develops confidence, character and lifelong skills

We don’t just teach techniques—we help build better people.

Whether your goal is to earn your next belt, step onto the competition mat, or simply become the best version of yourself, training with a club that is committed to the highest standards should be at the top of your list.

🥋 Train with purpose.
🏆 Progress with recognition.
💙 Be part of something bigger.

What a day! Club Grading and 3rd Birthday Celebration & Awards 💥

I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you who stepped onto the tatami — 80+ students showing courage, commitment, and everything that makes our club so special. To stand in front of family and friends and demonstrate your progression takes real confidence, and you all delivered.

Seeing everyone showcase the evolution of Ukemi was something special. To some it might look simple… even a bit funny… but as judoka we know just how vital it is. It’s the foundation of everything we do, and it was brilliant to show parents, families, and supporters exactly why it matters so much.

A huge moment as well having HQ and our Aylesham team together at — proving that we are one big team, always supporting each other and growing together. That’s what judo is all about. 🥋

And then… the after party! 🎉
The award ceremony, disco, and celebrations were nothing short of epic. The energy, the costumes, the atmosphere — unforgettable.

🏆 Award winners:
Best Costume – Theo (that Mario outfit was next level 👏)
Spirit of Judo – Freya
Rising Stars of 2026 – Harrison & Brody
Outstanding Competitors – Mohammed & Natalia
Elite Athletes of the Year – Max & Vanessa
Most Improved – Isabella 🌟
Club Pillar Award – Jesse (for your dedication to helping new players on their journey 🙌)

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far — players, parents, families, and supporters. We’re building something really special here.

And trust me… we’ve got some exciting plans for the year ahead 👀

Watch this space.

Shout outs too

London Youth Games 2026!

Originally, we had five students ready to step onto the mat, but unfortunately one of our boys picked up a serious injury in the lead-up. We’re all wishing him a full and speedy recovery — we know he’ll come back stronger 💪

That said, the team that did compete absolutely delivered…

Tali stepped up in incredible fashion, not only entering the competition for the first time but also moving up a weight group — and came away with gold medal, becoming a London Youth Games Champion 🥇

Jesse returned for her second Games, also stepping into a new weight category. After some really tough rounds, she showed great determination to secure a well-earned bronze 🥉

Our two boys were both competing at the London Youth Games for the first time:

Yachine put on a brilliant display, winning his bronze medal match with a fantastic throw to take the podium 🥉

Davi, also competing in a new belt and weight category, fought hard throughout the day — winning two and losing two — and came away with a bronze medal as well 🥉

Massive congratulations to all of our athletes. Stepping up into new categories and still bringing home results shows the hard work is paying off 👏

Huge congratulations to five of our students who have been selected to represent the club at the London Youth Games! 🙌🔥

This is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the hard work, dedication, and consistency they’ve all shown on the mat. Week in, week out, they’ve been putting in the effort — and now it’s time to step up and showcase it.

We know each and every one of them is ready for the challenge ahead, and we couldn’t be prouder. Go out there, give it everything, and enjoy the experience! 💪

Let’s go team! 🥋🏆

We’re really proud to see the number of girls and ladies on the mat growing week by week 🙌

From long-standing students to brand new faces, this group is quickly becoming something special. The mix of experience, support, and shared learning is building not just better judoka, but a fantastic little community within our club.

Our Clubs first Student International Medal! 🇬🇧 🇮🇪

Milestones don’t always take years—sometimes they’re achieved in a moment that reflects all the hard work behind the scenes.

A huge congratulations to Vanessa on bringing home our club’s—and my student’s—first international medal 🥈 Taking silver at the Northern Ireland Open 2026 is a massive step forward and a sign of the progress we’re building together as a team and a club.

Representing England & GBR in Northern Ireland

We are incredibly proud to announce that a second student from the club is competing in her first international competition — a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of her hard work and dedication.

This weekend, she takes a huge step forward as she steps onto the mat in Northern Ireland, representing Great Britain, England, and our club for the very first time. 🇬🇧

In just over two years of doing judo, her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Training 3–5 times a week, her commitment, discipline, and drive have led her to this incredible opportunity.

this shows what consistency and belief can achieve — and we couldn’t be prouder to see her flying the flag for all of us.

From everyone at the club, we wish you the very best of luck this weekend — go out there and enjoy every second of it! 💪🥋

What a fantastic weekend of Judo all round!

At the L2 London Development Event, our players delivered some brilliant performances across all age groups and grades. From strong podium finishes to hard-fought contests, it was great to see the hard work paying off—highlighted by multiple gold medals, silvers, and bronzes, and some huge personal milestones along the way. A special mention for Isabella, securing her first-ever gold after a year and a half of training and competing—an incredible achievement 👏

Alongside this, our head coach stepped onto the mat at the British Open and came away with a bronze medal in what can only be described as a slightly unusual run—but a medal is a medal, and we’ll take it!

A big thank you to all the parents and players who took the time to congratulate me—it genuinely means a lot. Most importantly, massive congratulations to every single player who competed this weekend. Your effort, attitude, and commitment continue to make us proud every time you step on the mat.

down at is where our judo journey is.
