2027 ROSTER | LIV FRENCH

We’re delighted to announce that Liv French returns for 2027!

Liv’s cycling takes her across a range of disciplines, from road racing and time trials to hill climbs. That breadth of experience, alongside her enthusiasm for the sport, has made her a welcome addition to Hera this year.

Ask Liv about her favourite race and there’s no hesitation – the National Hill Climb Championships! So it’s perhaps no surprise that she’s already looking forward to the 2027 edition, particularly as it’s taking place on one of her local climbs.

For Liv, one of the standout moments of her first season with Hera wasn’t a race result, but the support she received from the team at the National Time Trial Championships.

“The support at the National TT from the team. It made race day so much less stressful and let me just focus on doing the best ride I could.”

For Team Principal Christine White, Liv brings something equally valuable to the team:

“Liv brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience across different cycling disciplines, and that’s hugely valuable to us as a team. She’s someone our developing riders can learn a great deal from, but equally important is her enthusiasm and the positive attitude she brings to everything she does. We’re delighted she’ll be continuing with us in 2027.”

Away from racing, Liv admits she’s absolutely hopeless at anything artistic, so don’t expect her to be designing next year’s team kit! And her one essential on race day? Coffee. Apparently, lots and lots of coffee! ☕

For 2027, Liv’s looking forward to getting to know her teammates better, enjoying her racing and, naturally, another crack at the National Hill Climb.

⛰️ National Hill Climb Championships

Hannah Bayes and Liv French head to Exmoor tomorrow for the National Hill Climb Championships!

This year’s course takes on the 6.6km Porlock Toll Road, climbing 357 metres at an average gradient of 5.4%. A longer, more sustained effort than the usual short, sharp championship climbs.

Joining them on the start line is our very own Vicky Hinstridge, swapping team duties for a race number!

Two wins. Two second places. Quite a weekend for Hera! ❤️🩵

Four riders on the podium across road, hill climb and cyclocross. Not a bad way to spend a weekend!

🇧🇪 Millie Salmon rounded off her road season in style, taking victory in the final round of the Ladies Cycling Trophy in Heule, Belgium. Racing against elite opposition, Millie came out on top in a four-rider sprint to take a brilliant win!

⛰️ Eleanor Dixon was flying uphill at Peth Bank, taking 1st place in the women’s event at the Outlands Hill Climb, stopping the clock at 5:26.8.

🚴 Kirstie Drakeford was back between the tapes at Skipton, racing to 2nd place in Round 2 of the YCCA Cyclocross series.

🚴 Hannah Bayes made it two CX podiums for Hera, taking 2nd place at Wadebridge in Round 4 of the South West Cyclocross League.

Different disciplines, different challenges, and plenty to celebrate. Well done, girls! ❤️🩵

ONE RIDER. ONE PLACE.

As we finalise our 2027 roster, we’re opening one additional place within The Hera Project.

We’re looking for an Elite, 1st or 2nd Category rider with National A experience, who has already shown they can compete at this level but still has more to come.

Results matter, but so does potential and the desire to be part of what we’re building.

In 2027, we’ll continue to target the British National Road and Circuit Series while taking our first steps into a wider European race programme.

Millie Salmon joins The Hera Project for 2027

We’re delighted to welcome Millie Salmon to The Hera Project as she steps up into the U23 ranks for 2027.

Millie’s racing story only began in 2021, in a mixed youth race where, in her own words, she “got lapped a lot of times.” Rather than putting her off, it did quite the opposite. She loved it, and a passion for racing quickly followed.

Racing nationally with Clifton CC brought wins at Otley and Loughborough before Millie established herself as one of Britain’s strongest U17 riders. Victory at Gent-Wevelgem and fourth at the Tour of Flanders were followed by progression through the British Cycling pathway, from Regional School of Racing to the Olympic Development Squad.

That progression has taken Millie onto both road and track in GB colours and, most recently, to living and racing abroad with Grouwels Watersley R+D. It is experience she now brings with her to Hera, alongside an appetite to keep learning.

“I’m now moving into my first U23 season and I’m super excited to join Hera. I’m hoping to develop as a rider and help my teammates compete in the National Series.”

For Team Principal Christine White, it was not simply Millie’s results that stood out.

“Millie has a fantastically mature approach to racing and an understanding of tactics beyond her years. She already brings significant racing experience, but what impressed me just as much was her desire to learn as she takes the step into the U23 ranks.”

That combination of experience, curiosity and ambition makes Hera a natural place for the next stage of Millie’s development.

As Christine adds, “With the support and nurturing environment of The Hera Project, I have no doubt that Millie will continue to flourish.”
