Cringey post but sod it 😂😂

A few people have said I should do one of these. I usually cringe at the “who am I?” posts, but here goes…

I suppose it’s good to put a face to the name.

I’m Colin, founder of this team and also the man behind Mintlaw Over 35s. Football daft would be an understatement — if my body allowed it, I’d play every day, even at the tender age of 39 😂

Away from playing, I’m Vice Chair of Mintlaw Boys Club and coach of the now U17s side. I’ve been coaching for the past 16 years, which has included everything from boys’ and girls’ teams to adult teams.

Football has given me some great memories, great mates, and plenty of opportunities to give something back to the local community. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow both the club and this team in the years ahead.

Mintlaw 0–6 Inverurie

A tough one for the lads tonight against a very experienced and well-organised Inverurie side. With only two of our usual defenders available, it was always going to be a big challenge from the start.

Despite the result, there were still positives to take. Great to see a few new faces making their first 11-a-side appearances and stepping up to the challenge 👏🏻

The effort and attitude never dropped, with the boys continuing to battle right until the final whistle against strong opposition. Plenty to learn from this one as we regroup and look ahead to the next fixture 💪🏻

No weekly kick about tonight as we make the trip to Inverurie for the first of two fixtures this month. We’re expecting a tough test against Inverurie Over 35’s FC, especially after an entertaining 3–3 draw the last time we met.

We travel with a full squad despite a couple of late call offs, which shows the growing depth in the group. It’s great to see more lads keen to get involved in these competitive matches each month 👊🏻

Fixture confirmed 👊🏻

After a couple of failed attempts at arranging a fixture for our monthly friendlies, we will be on our travels for another game v Inverurie Over 35’s FC.

After a competitive 3-3 draw last time out I’m sure this one will be equally as competitive 💪🏻
