Where football is played, but memories are made!

Where teammates become best mates, and the football almost becomes a bonus.

From go-karts to sandcastles, grabbers in the arcades to games of cricket on the sand, this weekend was about so much more than what happened during the matches.

These Juniors have just lived a weekend they’ll remember for a lifetime. And in doing so, they’ve grown even stronger as a team—because they’ve shared something special together.

Minehead 2026 is well and truly etched in the memory book.

🏆🦁⚽️ Group C Trophy Winner’s ⚽️🦁🏆

After a run of 5 games since our last update, the Juniors put together an incredible spell to win their trophy league cup group! 🏆🦁

A fantastic effort from every single player, with each game bringing its own challenges, and the team showing real character throughout.

⚽ Game 1 vs Kewford Allstars
As always, Kewford pushed the Lions all the way - these games are never anything but close. The Juniors showed their quality going forward, with goals from Henry, Jack and Tobi getting the campaign off to a strong start.
🏆 POTM: Jasmine - calm, composed, and reliable throughout.

⚽ Game 2 vs Wolverhampton Olympic
Another tough test against a strong side, and one that required real resilience. The Juniors had to respond and did so brilliantly, with a hat-trick from Rocco and a brace from Tobi in a high-energy game.

⚽ Game 3 vs Dudley Town South
With plenty of motivation across the team, every single Junior stepped up. A performance full of pride, effort, and togetherness saw the Lions take the game to Dudley. Goals from Tobi and Rory capped off a brilliant display - though on another day there could have been even more.
🏆 POTM: The Team - every player played their part.

⚽ Game 4 vs Stourport Swifts
Another close and competitive encounter between two determined teams. Knowing what was at stake, the Juniors showed their quality once again, with goals from Henry, Rocco and Tobi proving enough on the day.
🏆 POTM: Jack - a tireless and influential performance.

⚽ Game 5 vs Fordhouses
Knowing what was needed, the Juniors came out flying - three goals within two and half minutes from Henry and Tobi (x2) set the tone. Credit to Fordhouses who kept battling, but an inspired Oliver in goal made some key saves to secure the result and confirm the Group C title.

The management team are incredibly proud of this group. Time and time again, when faced with challenges, they showed resilience, determination, and togetherness. Every single player contributed to this achievement - and most importantly, did it with smiles on their faces.

A brilliant cup run and a well-earned reward for all their hard work. 🏆💙🦁

This week saw the Juniors make the short trip over to Kewford as they faced their All Stars side.

As always, games against Kewford are closely contested affairs, and this one was no different. From the first whistle it was a tight battle, with both teams competing for every ball and refusing to give an inch.

The early stages saw Kewford create the better opportunities as the Juniors took a little time to get going. But as the game settled, so did the Lions. Confidence began to grow, passes started to stick, and the Juniors worked their way into the contest.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with both teams creating chances in what remained a closely fought encounter. It was the sort of match where small margins could make the difference, but overall it was an evenly matched game played in the right spirit by both sides — exactly how youth football should be. 👏

The Lions now look forward to welcoming the All Stars to our home pitch next week for what promises to be another great contest.

🏆 Player of the Match: George — a superb display of versatility. George stepped into a number of different roles throughout the game, but when asked to return to the back line he really led from the front, putting in strong, brave tackles and organising the defence brilliantly.

On Sunday the Juniors were back on home soil, welcoming Oldbury United Tigers for what we knew would be another tough and competitive encounter. Tigers vs Lions — it’s never dull!

The Lions started brightly, possibly still inspired/reminiscing about our previous team talk of cakes… proof that sugar-fuelled motivation works wonders! 🍰😄

The forward play from Rocco, Jack, Henry and Rory was, in spells, a joy to watch. The pass–move–talk combinations we work on each week are really paying dividends, with some lovely flowing football that showed real confidence and teamwork.

At the back, Leo and George began strongly, organised and composed, meaning Oliver in goal was largely a spectator early on — though he kept himself warm and alert, just in case!

This week’s game changers were Tobi and Jasmine, and they were exactly that. No matter where they were asked to play, they slotted in seamlessly, picking up the tempo and keeping the standard high. Their versatility and attitude were a pleasure to see.

Of course, the Juniors didn’t have it entirely their own way. A touch of complacency allowed the Tigers to roar back into things, and suddenly Oliver was very much involved — called into action several times and responding with focus and confidence.

The second half brought more energy (and possibly more thoughts of cake). Rotations continued front and back, and the Juniors showed great resilience, sticking to their football and playing with enthusiasm right until the final whistle.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable match played in the right spirit by both teams — competitive, respectful, and full of effort.

🏆 Player of the Match: Oliver — although he had little to do early on, his concentration never dipped. When called upon, he made smart decisions and some excellent saves during an entertaining second half. A top performance.

This week was one of those where, when things are against you… they’re really against you! 😅

With the bare seven available, no subs, a lightning-quick surface, a couple of knocks picked up along the way, and players stepping into unfamiliar positions, it was always going to be a tough afternoon. But what an effort it was.

The seven Juniors available gave absolutely everything they had. On a pitch that felt more like a racetrack at times, tired legs had nowhere to hide and with no substitutes to rotate, the work rate and attitude on show deserved huge credit. 💙

In many ways, it was actually the perfect game to experiment and rotate, giving the guys a chance to experience different roles and responsibilities against a confident Old Wulfs side who arrived with a full bench and plenty of energy to call upon. That’s what grassroots football at this age is all about: learning, adapting, and growing.

Every single Junior put their hand up, embraced the challenge, and kept going right until the final whistle. No excuses, just effort and teamwork.

🏆 Player of the Match: Leo — who stepped into goal this week and did so brilliantly. Some lovely saves, brave decision-making, and a real willingness to put himself on the line for the team. A top attitude and performance.

Football at this age is a journey, some days test you more than others but the character shown Sunday says everything about this group. We learn, we smile, and we go again. 🦁⚽

The Juniors took on Forest Falcons Sunday, and although the rain was only slowly creeping in at kick-off, the conditions progressively worsened — leading to some very muddy kits by full-time! 🌧️🦁

The Juniors started brightly, putting together some lovely passing moves and working their way up the pitch with real intent. However, Falcons caught them out with a perfectly placed long ball forward, reminding everyone that focus was key in tricky conditions.

That moment didn’t deter the young Juniors one bit. Ignoring the rain, they stuck to their principles. The pass, move, talk — and most importantly the teamwork we build on each week — was on show in abundance.

The link-up play between the forward players — Rocco, Jack, Rory, Henry and Leo — was at times the best passing football the Juniors have produced this season. Quick combinations, clever movement, and unselfish play resulted in some excellent team goals. ⚽👏

Defensively, responsibility fell to Oliver in goal, alongside captain Jasmine, Tobi, and George, who collectively put in a tremendous shift. Strong in the tackle, brave on the ball, and always willing to cover for each other — exactly what you want to see.

Half-time came with the Juniors soaked through but absolutely loving their football life! 💙

The second half saw the conditions worsen further, with both teams battling the elements as much as each other. There were moments where tired legs and heavy pitches made things scrappy, and Falcons capitalised when the Juniors briefly took their foot off the pedal. But credit to both sides — they persevered and continued to make a real game of it in some very challenging weather.

Huge kudos to both teams for producing such an entertaining match in difficult conditions. Character, resilience, and plenty of quality on show. 👏

Sunday saw a true Lions derby as the Juniors took on Kidderminster Lions in what proved to be a proper old-fashioned contest between two evenly matched sides.

From kick-off, the game had all the ingredients you’d expect from a derby — high tempo, strong challenges, and plenty of quality on show. The Lions started brightly, but the Juniors quickly grew into the game and began to play with confidence and composure.

The Juniors’ goals were the result of excellent team football. The opener came when Rocco found the net after a superbly delivered Tobi corner, rewarding some positive pressure. The Lions responded, but the Juniors showed great character to go again. A second well-worked goal followed — a move that started with Ollie in goal, moved through Jasmine at the back, and continued via the Rory–Jack combination, before Jack showed real composure to finish calmly.

True to the nature of the derby, the Lions came back once more, ensuring the contest remained finely balanced and fully alive deep into the game.

At the other end, Ollie produced a fine save, tipping a well-struck long-range effort away when it looked destined for the top corner.🧤

Defensively, George and Leo were excellent throughout, making important interventions and showing real determination.

In midfield, Henry continues to grow into the role, showing confidence on the ball and working tirelessly for the team.

With the attacking threat of Tobi, Jack, Rocco, and Rory, the Juniors were a constant handful and played with real energy, bravery, and togetherness from start to finish.

In a derby like this, performances are what last — and this was a performance the Juniors can take huge pride in. The quality of the goals, the teamwork, and the attitude shown throughout reflected exactly what this group is about.

⭐ Player of the Match: Jasmine — a superb display that showed exactly what she brings to this team. Strong, brave, and aggressive in all the right ways, she defended with confidence and leadership, setting the standard for everyone around her.

A fantastic Juniors performance in a derby that was as competitive and entertaining as they come. Plenty to be proud of and plenty to take forward. 🦁 💙 🦁
