Unfortunately, Porlock ladies have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the league this season due to low player numbers.
Following last seasons promotion to division 2 , the team experienced exciting football and a higher level of fitness, pushing the ladies and encouraging their development. However this promotion brought its own challenges, and the ladies finished the season playing a bare 11.
Following a number of players moving on to other teams , while others have stepped away for their own reasons during the closed season, the team has now become unsustainable.

This isn’t the end of the road for Porlock ladies, as they will still continue training and look to enter a 7 a side casual league on a monthly basis, while trying to grow the team to previous levels. Fingers crossed you will see them back in the league for the 2027/28 season.

Porlock FC have had a ladies team for ten years and this is down to the hardwork of the club and its volunteers, and of course, player manager, Christina. So a big thank you goes to all of them. Also a big thank you to the past and present players - you have been a massive part of women’s football in this area. Last but not least, thank you to our sponsors, JMF Property Services and Maitland Walker - your support is much appreciated.

Finally, best of luck to the players moving on to new teams and to our local ladies teams in West Somerset in their season ahead ⚽️

A very hot, sunny Pen Mill tournament! Porlock ladies enjoyed some pre-season fun in the sun today with some close matches and nice football played. Unfortunately didn’t make it out of the group stages but enjoyed it all the same ☀️ well done ladies ❤️🖤
The ladies are back training on Weds at 7pm at Alcombe rec.
