Ecstatic dance: what is it and why I do it.
I discovered somatic movement as part of my healing journey as a yogi. As a high-performance woman with ADHD I suffered from extreme tension and body pains pretty much all my life. Yoga was a game changer for me. It gave my body would it needed. But I noticed that there was still some tension left. One day a friend of mine asked me to join Ecstatic dance in London and oh my God, I was so uncomfortable. 😬😬😬 I didn’t know , or I to be precise wasn’t taught to move freely. So it took a while to give myself permission to move freely. And guess what song of the song my body began to liberate itself. I shook, I swayed my hips, and I jumped around like mad - and that’s somatic movements that my body needed. Towards the end of the night it felt tired, but so free!

What I wanted to share is that when you start dancing freely, it can be quite scary and uncomfortable, but as you carry on moving, you will get to a beautiful state of freedom and liberation where your body will be guiding you into movement that it needs and your brain will be secondary commander only ♥️

My body still hurts, but it feels so much better after a good shake out and what’s why I do these events - for me and to share this medicine with others 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 because it’s so much more pleasant to share joy with others 🥳🥳🥳

Join me on Saturday 1st August at 7:30pm for a Liberation Ritual—an evening of Ceremonial Cacao, Guided Ecstatic Dance and a deeply restorative Sound Bath.

We’ll begin by gently arriving in our bodies before I guide you into a dance journey designed to quiet the thinking mind and awaken your intuition.

✨ Laugh.
✨ Move with sensuality.
✨ Dance wildly.
✨ Or simply sway with your eyes closed.

We’ll close the evening with a soothing sound bath, allowing your nervous system to settle, your heart to soften, and your whole body to absorb the medicine of movement.

We’ll begin by sharing ceremonial cacao to gently open the heart before moving into an ecstatic dance journey. I’ll guide you through music and movement, helping you release tension, shake off stress, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been waiting to breathe again.

You don’t need to know how to dance.

You simply need to be willing to listen to your body.

As the evening unfolds, you’ll notice something beautiful happening…

Sunset yoga recap ♥️🌱🌿🌴🌊

Last Friday, I hosted an outdoor yoga session during the sunset. Quite a few people turned up and we did a chillout session we have a bit of breath work gentle stretches and partner work. Followed by yoga Nidra by and some of my singing bowls. ♥️🌿🌱🌴
