Skegness Raceway – 5th April Race Report

After a complete strip down and rebuild over the closed season, we finally got the car back out for our first meeting at Skegness Raceway.

It was a very stressful week leading up to the meeting, with ongoing issues including starters, fuel pumps, and a number of smaller faults that kept us busy right up to race day.

Heat 1 didn’t go to plan, as the fuel pump failed before we even made it out on track.

We managed to get out for Heat 2, but after only a few laps the fuel pump failed again, resulting in a DNF. With help from Grandad, Uncle Ian, and Andy Wilson, we worked hard in the pits to get the issue sorted.

We made it out for the final and were running for around three quarters of the race before another issue struck—this time the rotor arm failed, ending our race early with another DNF.

A very disappointing meeting for us, but plenty of lessons learned and things to take away as we move forward.

A massive thank you to my Grandad for the countless hours he spends helping in the garage and sorting things for me—it really doesn’t go unnoticed.

Staockcar Sunday: manage to get all the panel off and take the engine out ran competitions on it while it was still in and was not happy with the results managed to find out were the oil leak is coming from witch is the bottom of the sump I think 🤔 🏁🏁👍👍

Well that was a long day!
It's always hard to know what to do for the best and Jack decided to change the engine. So spent all week with big Dave changing it over. Unfortunately there were a few gremlins in there for the first 2 races so no results.
Lined up for the shale shifters final on row 4 after making a few minor changes after some advice from one of the drivers, great race and finished 7th. We had one frustrated driver that day, but that's racing for you. Needs a good check over and a few more tweeks before our final meeting of the season at Buxton on 21st Sept.
