Spectacular view as the sun went down on Hammerton Hippos first home game last night .. a WIN by 8 wickets against North Stainley. Hungriest Hippo was Will Jenkins 75 not out off 43 balls in our total of 145-2.

Latest news from the ground …

A very successful T20 day on Sunday with 2 matches from Leeds Champions Cup. Lively, big-hitting cricket with white balls flying all around the park (and one through the pavilion window!)

The ground is looking amazing at the moment. Thanks to groundsman Alex, mowers John and Chris, and moss-sprayer Pat for your efforts this week.

Leeds Super Kings 3s v Starbeck 2s on Saturday 2nd May 1pm start.

Hammerton Hippos first evening league game bs North Stanley on Wednesday 6th at 6pm.

AllStars cricket for boys & girls aged 5-8 starts on Friday 8th 6pm.

Many thanks to the players and supporters who helped out on Ground Works Day at Mill Lane on Saturday. Lots of important preseason jobs ticked off.

First game of the season Saturday 25th April when we host Leeds Super Kings vs Ripon in the Nidderdale League.

At the Annual General Meeting of Kirk Hammerton Cricket Club on 25th November an excellent season was reported on by the retiring captain, Guy Jenkins.
We won the Harrogate Evening League division 3, playing 10 games and winning 9. The Club also won the final of the George Greaves Cup in an exciting contest against Spofforth.
End of season awards went to Jake Temple (batting), Alf Bartle (bowling), Jonty Moorhouse (fielding) and Luke Temple (Captain’s Award).
With Guy unfortunately being unavailable for the 2026 season, a new Club Captain, Jake Temple, was appointed.
As well as expressing our gratitude to the committee and those who help with the Mill Lane ground, and our partners at Walton Park CC and Leeds Super Kings CC, we thanked those who help to finance our village club. In particular we welcomed a number of new subscribers to The Hundred Club, as well as thanking Tony Gill for his very generous support.
