In Memory of Matty Blades ❤️

It is with the heaviest of hearts that Seaton Carew FC shares the devastating news of the passing of one of our coaches, Matty, who tragically lost his life in a fatal accident while carrying out his duties as a police officer.

Matty had only recently joined our club as a coach and was preparing for his first season with our brand-new U7 Seahawks team. He was looking forward to being part of the team and, most importantly, to coaching his own son, who is going to be playing for the Seahawks this season.
Matty and his oldest son are much-loved members of our club and our U10 Lions football family.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Matty’s wife, his two boys, and all of his family and friends at this incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time.
We also stand alongside Matty’s colleagues and friends within the police service, who have tragically lost members of their force.

All club flags are flying at half mast as a sign of respect.

From everyone at Seaton Carew FC, thank you Matty for choosing to become part of our club.
You will always be remembered as one of our own.

Rest peacefully Matty.

Match report
We hosted Saltburn this morning at the dock, a team a few divisions above us and always a good test, they are a go to team to see how far off the pace we are, we played them a couple of times last year and are a brilliant team and good kids,
The game started well, we were confident and played some good footy, balls In the box, and positional play was great throughout the team, Oscar H, Oscar D coming close and making some great runs, the game was quite end to end, Ollie had to make some great saves and we switched off for a second, we went chasing the same ball and found ourselves 1 down at half time, second half started bright also, we had a couple of chances we didn't take, Lewis and Joey getting close, we held onto the ball for a little too long and tied ourselves up upfront a times, at the back we looked more composed and G's off the ball running and awareness woke us up a little bit and we were unlucky to concede again another mistake from us putting the ball across our box, Saltburn took their chances well today and punished us, G did well playing a year up today and once he found his confidence was a great help, Ollie made save after save to keep us in it, so thank you lads for your help and well done, thank you again to Saltburn, great kids and great coach, always a pleasure and a test for us happy to run it back again anytime and you are welcome at the dock anytime, good luck for your season ahead 🔴🔵 unlucky blues today, another day it would of been a different scoreline, but we did play some good footy and got in some good positions, the training was implemented in game and we take some positives from todays match UTSPR

Shout out Harley, Jayce and Oscar today, played a year up at 9 a-side today for South Park Rangers Blues - U12 and didn't look out of place, all 3 played great and put a good shift in, they deserved a medal today,
well done lads 🔴🔵🏅UTSPR up the Blues
