🟠⚫️ KADER U14 GIRLS — 2026/27 SEASON 🟠⚫️

After a long wait, the girls are ready to get their season underway this weekend!

It’s been a really positive pre-season, with some new faces coming through the door to bolster the squad. We’re excited to see what this group can achieve as they enter their second year together.

They’ve got the perfect test to get started, with a trip down to York this Saturday to face Strensall in the North Riding County Cup! 🏆

🔵 Full-time: Thornaby 2-8 Kader 🟠

The girls continued their preparations for the new season with a friendly against Thornaby this morning.

With both teams low on numbers, we played the game at ten a side but still managed to play a really good game of football from both teams.

The first half wasn’t the prettiest of performances from ourselves, despite this we managed to get ahead by three thanks to goals from Henna, Holly and Darcie.

Thornaby did grab a goal before half time after a well intercepted pass was finished off. At half time we spoke about tidying up our passing and improving the performance as a team.

The second half was much better from that point of view, we created some lovely passages of play, making some great chances and scoring some fantastic goals.

Thornaby were awarded a penalty which they cooly converted to double their total for the day, summarising their never give up attitude displayed all game.

We must say a big thank you to Nevaeh, Ruby and Holly who all played parts of the game in goal today due to Evie being away on holiday, it was much appreciated.

A special mention for new signing Lily as well, who managed to grab a goal and assist on her debut! Well done Lily! 👏

Overall, it was a really good performance this morning from the girls. They battled hard, defended well and produced some excellent attacking moves and goals. Big thanks again to Thornaby for being great hosts as usual, good luck for the upcoming season and we look forward to seeing you again. 👍

Henna 👏

Stepping in today to help out due to low numbers, Henna was superb. Playing out wide, her pace, skill and quality was on show throughout causing the opposition a world of trouble. She was top notch throughout the entire game and got the well deserved recognition from the referee. Well done and thank you Henna!

🟠 Full-time: Kader 3-4 Middleton 🟠

The girls continued their preseason preparations with a friendly against Middleton this morning in what was a great game of football.

We started the game very well, controlling the play and getting into good areas. Our good start was rewarded when Jess found the back of the net early to give us the lead.

We continued to play well with plenty of the ball, creating many chances but just couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. Middleton found an equaliser after some great individual work from their striker who tucked the ball away.

We responded well to their leveller, creating more good chances, which again paid dividends when Holly managed to loop the ball over the keeper to restore our lead.

We went into half time ahead and good for it. We wanted to try and tidy up our play across the middle of the park and start to capitalise on the chances we were creating.

Into the second half, Middleton grew into the game and started creating chances. Two quick goals including a great free kick seen the game turn on its head, but the girls continued to knock on the door creating plenty of good opportunities.

As tired legs grew, Middleton grabbed a fourth, but again the girls didn’t give up and kept working hard as a team. Holly managed to grab a second for the day with a great finish to half the deficit as we approached the end of the game.

In the dying moments, Darcie pulled off some magic getting past her man out wide, before cutting in and firing the ball just past the far post in what was the last opportunity of the game.

Middleton came out winners in a really good game. There are plenty of positives to take from our performance, on another day we could’ve and should’ve had 4 or 5 more goals but it wasn’t to be. Overall, the girls performance was a good one and a good building block as we move forward.

Player of the match was a tough one to award today with some really good performances, but Hollys two goals and all round play today made her our choice. On another day she could’ve had 5 or 6 goals herself, but she still put on an excellent display. Well done, Holly! 🧡

The girls spent the day at the Trimdon tournament and gave an excellent account of themselves. ⚽️

Starting the day up against a strong Hetton side, the girls battled well in a 0-0 draw. A good opening game where we very nearly got the win when Jess fired a ball from near half way which narrowly went over the bar.

Second up was Thornaby in what is always a good game. The girls put on a great performance with Holly grabbing 4 goals and Sav getting on the scoresheet as well. The midfield unit of Jess, Hannah and Ev worked so well playing some excellent balls through the channels throughout.

We then came up against the hosts Trimdon. The girls had a slow start to the game but after some half time changes, we dominated the second half. Holly opened the score after some great work from Hannah winning the ball back out wide and playing across to tap home. Sav then came so close hitting the bar, but she did get a goal at the death when she read a misplaced back to the goalkeeper and nicked the ball from her feet, taking it round and tapping home.

It was semi finals time and we came up against Trimdon for the second game running. We started the game well, playing some good football on tiring legs. We got our opener after Sav found the net for the third time. In the dying minutes Trimdon found an equaliser after a mix up at the back, our first goal conceded of the day.

1-1 at full time meant extra time, where it again ended level meaning penalties. Massive credit to the Holly, Lilly, Hannah, Crystal and Ruby who all stepped up to take a penalty. There were some fantastic goals scored. A special mention is in order for Evie however, who saved two penalties to win us the shootout 4-3!

Into the final, we came up against Hetton again. Tired legs were on show in a good game regardless. Hetton got their goal from distance with a great strike from 20 odd yards out. The girls continued to battle well but the game ended 1-0, with Hetton coming out winners.

Overall, we had an excellent day in a well ran tournament. Well done to all the teams who participated, it was a really good standard of football. A great start to our preseason, they all made us extremely proud.

A big thank you as well to Hannah, Jess and Meg for helping us out today, they were all superb. 👌

🏆🏆 PRESENTATION DAY 🏆🏆

After spending Saturday together at the Redcar tournament, today the girls had their presentation day down at Kader.

They had a fantastic day bonding together, with some good fun on the bouncy castles provided by the club.

It was also a good chance for us as coaches to tell the girls and parents how much we appreciate their dedication and hard work over the past season. After a tough start, their hard work has started to pay off with some really positive performances over the last few months.

A big well done to our award winners as well, who received some much deserved recognition for their efforts throughout.

The girls officially marked the start of tournament season today, playing in the Redcar Town FC tournament. ⚽️

They all done us extremely proud today, playing against some high level teams. We started the day playing against Middlesbrough Girls, a team we’ve faced many times. The girls battled brilliantly, working so hard as a team to defend as a unit. We created some good chances with Ev, Nancy and Rose playing some fantastic balls forward, but couldn’t find that opener. The game ended level in a well matched contest.

In our second game we faced Beamish. The girls really upped their level after a scrappy opening 5 minutes or so, and took control of the game. We played some fantastic football, and managed to get an opener when Sav put in some great work down the right hand after a great through ball from Ev, where she then played in Holly who made no mistake in finding the net. Our second game this time down the left when Darcie made a fantastic run down, having her effort parried into the feet of Holly again who slotted into an empty net. The match ended 2-0 in a great second match.

Our third game came against Boro Rangers. A team who always give us a good game, we felt unlucky to walk away with a 1-0 defeat in a game where we felt we could’ve got something from it. We responded brilliantly when playing Sunderland RCA in our next match. The girls put in one of the best battling performances we’ve seen, every single girl worked so hard together. We created some incredible chances, but a mix of good saves and some misfortune seen the game end level.

Our final game of the group came against Boldon. A team who won every game in the group and they came out deserved winners with a quality performance. We narrowly missed out on a place in the plate semi-final on goal difference as frustratingly our semi-final was cancelled due to a mix up by the organisers.

Overall, the girls done us incredibly proud today. Playing against some high level opposition, they did not look out of place and gave an excellent account of themselves. A really good building block moving into the summer, well done girls! 👏🧡

🟠 Full-time: Kader 7-0 Nunthorpe 🟡

The girls enjoyed another run out in some warm conditions this morning against Nunthorpe in our final friendly before the start of tournament season.

We started the game really well, our midfield controlling the ball and playing some really good football. After some continued pressure, we grabbed an opener when Lilly found Crystal with a great delivery, allowing her to float the ball over the keeper.

Our control continued allowing some near chances when Holly hit the cross bar and Nancy skied one over the bar from a corner. We did get a second when Ev found herself in acres of space on the edge of the box, allowing her to smash one into the back of the net.

Holly grabbed our third after some nice work with Lilly, the same duo linking up in reverse just before half time when Holly set up Lilly who bagged our fourth.

At half time we made a slight change to our midfield shape to help regain control. The second half followed a similar trend to the first, lots of the ball and some really good passing and moving.

Crystal was none stop up the left hand side, her hard work paid off again when she played a cross in hoping to find Holly, but a deflection off a defender seen the ball end up in the back of the net.

Holly then grabbed her second when she read a misplaced pass from the goalkeeper, allowing her to send it over her head from distance. Holly then linked up well with Nancy, playing her through on goal but a good save from the goalkeeper denied her.

With the game nearly over, Lilly won a corner in the dying seconds. Holly delivered a perfect cross where Ruby met the ball brilliantly with her head, bouncing the ball off the bar fortunately falling back into her path allowing her to tap home into an empty net to seal the game.

Overall, the girls put in a really strong performance. Their passing was excellent and they really controlled proceedings throughout. Credit to Nunthorpe who battled until the very end. 🤝

Ruby had an excellent game today. Her recovery pace was fantastic and her overall leadership of the backline was brilliant to watch. She had some excellent tackling and her passing was outstanding. To top it off, she scored a brilliant goal to end the match. Well done Ruby! 💪
