Cup Match – Home against
Pools youth Whites U13s

After a six-week break due to postponed games and in very tough weather conditions, this was our first game back.

I thought we played really well all game against strong opposition from a league above, who are also doing well in the league.

We battled from start to finish and never gave up.

We took an early lead through a lovely strike from Thomas. Not long after, we doubled the lead when Oscar played a brilliant through ball and Josh finished the move well.

Pools then enjoyed a spell of control and managed to pull a goal back, making it 2–1 at half-time.

In the second half, the kids continued to battle and played some really nice football throughout. Sonny delivered a great ball across the box and Cooper calmly slotted it home to make it 3–1.

Once again, the away side began to play and took control and pulled it back to 3–2.

Pool Whites then began to get on top and equalised at 3–3, before going on to score again soon after to take a 4–3 lead.

Acklam showed real intensity and never stopped pushing right until the final whistle, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be for us today.

Well done to Pool Whites on progressing. As for our team, we really stood up today and showed exactly what we’re all about. We were very unlucky to be on the losing side.

A big well done to the entire team who battled hard and played some lovely football today.

Parents Player of the Match:

Sonny – played some excellent football, stretched the opposition all game, and provided a great assist for Cooper’s goal in the second half. Well done, Sonny.

Manager’s Player of the Match:

Maali – never stopped running, battled throughout, and linked up really well with Josh and the wingers. Maali showed great strength and work rate and was outstanding at centre forward. A real pleasure to watch.

I honestly could have given player of the match to every player today. One very proud manager.

Onwards and upwards as we return to league action next week.

Late morning kick off for Acklam today. Away to South Park Ranger's u13's blues.

From the 1st whistle to the last Acklam give everything they had today. End to end in the 1st 20 mins we were unlucky to go 1 nill down. Acklam heads did not drop and a well deserved goal from sonny we pulled it back to 1-1 before half time.

2nd half - Acklam came out strong. Playing some excellent football and working as a team which was great to see. Ayaan managed to get on the score sheet making it 2-1 to Acklam. Not content with the 1 goal Ayaan shortly followed again with a second goal to make it 3 -1 to us. Acklam continued to press and create chances, Charlie then took a great strike which found the back of the net making it 4-1 to Acklam. South Park did manage to pull a goal back shortly towards the end of the 2nd half. However Acklam did not give up and kept the pressure on right until the end. Final score 4-2 to Acklam.

Coaches player of the match - The whole team. I could not pick a individual player this week. I'm so proud of every single players performance on that pitch today. All worked as a team, never give up and continued to chase every ball and battled for each other.

Parents players - It was a tough choice for the parents to choose as well. Thomas and Ayaan were the parents joint player of the match.

Ayaan- solid in defence. Did not stop working and scored 2 great goals when moved to wing.

Thomas excellent in midfield. Battled and blocked every ball. As well as making some excellent through balls.

Pitch inspection complete. Match is on.

Today was another away fixture this time against South Park Rangers Reds u13s.

Although we started off a bit slow. It was a brilliant game today.

We went 1-0 down early on and then conceded a second straight after to be 2-0

However we then finally turned up in the game

Josh scored two goals from Zibby's goal kicks which they couldn’t handle all game

South Park Rangers then went 3-2 up from some good work from them

However Josh our centre forward got a 3rd from an excellent free kick, making it a hatrick from him before half time.

Half time 3-3 cracking first half

Second half kicks off and we just continued the way we finished the first half strong and playing some great football

We then took the lead with Josh scoring a 4th, shortly followed with his 5th

To make it 5-3 to Ackalm, with a well deserved comfortable lead

However we conceded a 4th to a dubious penalty. 5-4

Acklam did not give up and continued to play some good football, we scored again from a great finish from Oscar D ( maybe cross 😂 ) 6-4

With 43 seconds left they scored deflected free kick to make it 6-5

We kicked off and Josh scored from the kick off from his own half, only for ref to blow his whistle as the ball was in mid air

A very entertaining game. Final score South Park Ranger's Reds 5 Acklam Fc 6.

Parents POTM was Josh excellent all game. Scoring some great goals.

Today sees another away fixture for Acklam FC u13s,this time against South Park Rangers Reds u13s. Good luck boys ⚽️

10am kick off this morning and a tough start to the season away at North Ormesby… especially with a small squad

However boys started well inside first 10 mins created a few chances and unlucky not to go 1-0 up.

Josh was massive handful all game to their team….

Again in the first half we created more chances, one from Josh and one from Charlie just couldnt take one of the chances…

Unfortunately we where hit with sucker punch and north Ormesby took the lead towards the end of the first half

Into the second half and we made some changes and made best use of the 1 sub we had

However in the end we just ran out legs and North Ormesby started to take control of the game and scored a 2nd followed by a 3rd and 4th

We continued to battle and work which is what I asked of the team and we continued to create chances however just couldn’t take one to get something from the game

Unfortunately in the end a win for North Ormesby 4-0.

Well done boys and we go again next week.

Coaches player of match Riley- brilliant today, comfortable on the ball and worked hard at centre back and again when asked to move to midfield

Parents player of match was Josh who continues to work so hard for himself and the team. Played up front first half and unlucky not to score and second half dropped to centre midfield again battled and still created chances for the team.
