Teesside double header: a disappointing weekend.

Saturday (Round 4)
Qual 5th (of 30)
Heat 1: 5 - > 5
Heat 2: 5 - > 6
Heat 3: 6 - > 4
Final: 5 - > 5

Sunday (Round 5)
Qual 5th (of 28)
Heat 1: 5 - > 6
Heat 2: 6 - > 6
Heat 3: 6 - > 5
Final: 6 - > 16

Unfortunately, straight-line speed was not there to challenge for the podium this time, as newly rebuilt engine didn't deliver as we hoped. So it was all about dealing with adversity, being creative (and defensive at times) and getting as many points as possible. Still I managed to keep up with the top pack until the end of the Sunday final, so the chance was there... Unexpectedly, driver in front made an error, and I had nowhere to go. My kart jumped over their wheel, spun and was collected by someone behind. Damage to the seat and the sidepod, and no time left to make up positions. The round to forget and move on...

IPKC streak continues: a win and the lap record in my first ever time at Hooton Park!

Heat 1: 7 -> 5
Heat 2: 5 -> 1
Heat 3: cancelled
Final: 3 -> 1 🏆

Saturday was a wet day. I risked it on slicks in one session (and it worked), but otherwise we did not get any meaningful practice in dry conditions for Sunday racing.
So first heat was a bit of a struggle as we were not sure about setup. Much improvement in the second heat: I managed to win it on the last lap and set a new Honda lap record for Hooton Park (41.06)!
Heat 3 was cancelled, as there was a delay due to a non-racing related medical emergency - I trust the spectator is fine.
In the final I took the lead on the first lap and consistently built the gap to the rest of the pack, finishing 10 seconds ahead. 💨

Great seeing - excellent progress! Thanks to for the photos and for your emergency help with the kart!
