I’d always recommend investing in a good PT in your area to show you the correct ways to lift or even a knowledgable friend. But aside from this here’s some tips that can help

If I had a pound for everytime I saw a programme selling a belly fat burning workout or something about getting sculpted abs just by working out I’d probably have millions

It’s disappointing news knowing you can’t spot reduce fat, I get it but you can have a positive impact on your waist line

Ab and core exercises will help definition and building a strong core but it won’t be till you’ve lost some fat that you’ll see it

And that’s the part that takes time. Please save your money from these “belly blasting” exercise programmes and fat doesn’t turn into muscle. You can build muscle and lose fat yes, but not by doing endless crunches 🥲

It’s useful for certain things but please don’t get caught up seeing fitness influencers doing some odd belly massage and think they look like that because of the LD

Steven Bartlett is kicking it all off again this week and whilst his experience with alcohol is his own it does highlight this perfectionist type of view

Striving for perfect days is hard and when it’s slightly less than perfect we can write it off and I think it’s gone a bit too far

Yes we can want to improve our sleep, our health and our metrics that will keep us living for longer

But there is also an element of life to be lived and days you just can’t avoid things not being perfect

And i think it goes a bit far sometimes in striving for more and more perfection

Alcohol is a different discussion and is definitely personal so less on that aspect

But sometimes we need to remember to live a little too (even without alcohol involved). We are also resilient creatures let’s not forget that

It’s only a problem if it’s constantly over and over again with poorer decision making
