What a start to 2026 — both professionally and personally.
As the winter season comes to a close, it feels like the right time to reflect on what has been an incredibly busy and rewarding few weeks. Straight after the break, we went straight back into the thick of it with tournaments alongside our YFL league fixtures — and it has certainly been non-stop.
U8s Abu Dhabi Cup
Reached the semi-finals, losing on penalties to PSG Russia
JPL GCC Abu Dhabi Cup
Proud to lead the U9s to become champions 🏆
Mina Cup
A fantastic experience at the prestigious Mina Cup, where the U8s reached the quarter-finals, losing to a strong Precision side who went on to win the tournament.
VW Cup
Led the U10s to the final, losing on penalties to Liverpool Academy UAE — a tournament and performances to be proud of.
And to top it off, this week the U8s secured the YFL League title in Dubai, going unbeaten all season — a fantastic achievement.
On a personal level, it’s been intense and demanding, but also incredibly rewarding. Competing in different tournament formats against high-level opposition has provided constant learning opportunities and pushed both myself and the players to keep improving.
The biggest credit goes to the players across all age groups. Their attitude, resilience and professionalism have been outstanding. They’ve represented themselves and the club with real class, and it’s been a privilege to coach, prepare and build strong relationships with them over the weeks of preparation and competition.
A brilliant start to 2026 — and we’re only just getting going.
