Start as we mean to go on!
Mayfield have made a brilliant start to the season beating our Rochdale rivals 8-1!
Mayfield started fast out the blocks today. Continuing with his goal scoring form, Louis Jacobs was played through by a brilliant ball from AJ to make it 1-0 in the 7th minute. Following on from the strong start, some trickery footwork from Bella led to the brown cow defender resorting to snapping him…
PENALTY WON!
Who else but Louis Jacobs, the man who’s already penned himself on the goal sheet, to step up to the penalty spot and…….BOOM 2-0
Mayfield carried on their constant threat with a strike from outside of the box leading to a corner. The ball is whipped into the back post, the target man Reece Hamlett heads it back into the mix, and iggy latches on to it top right corner! 3-0
Goal number 4 came 5 minutes later with some fluid passing movements into the box where Lou, the man who has been everywhere, laid it off to Hamlett, and he slotted it down the middle of the open goal.
Brown cows didn’t have many chances, but one of the few they created managed to get them a goal, making it 4-1 just before half time.
Second half begins and what better way to start then a Mayfield goal!!!! 46th minute AJ to Zack the balls in the back!

Goal number six came from a mistake from the brown cow defender, which led to Hamlett picking the ball up, running Down the wing, and put it on a plate for Louis to complete his hat trick!
Substitution now and Scott Santi enters the field of play and what better way to announce yourself to Mayfield FC than with an absolute screamer from 45 yards out! Some may say it was a cross but he said he meant it 🤷🏽‍♂️
Mayfield stayed in control quite comfortably throughout, and to finish the day off, Mal whacked a wicked cross into the box, Zak connects for his second of the morning and completes a dominant victory for the field!
