36 of Derbyshire’s top Vets bowlers braved today’s weather to take part in BCGBA J&J Isherwood Trophy All England qualification round. Well done to Nick from Littleover BC (Winner pictured) and Neil from Cliffe Park BC (Runner Up).
Thank-you to the greenstaff and the club’s team for setting up the event and providing hospitality.

The NE Derbys. qualifier for BCGBA Ladies’ Merit at MGC today. “Some cracking games on a beautiful running green”. Congratulations to Julie Bonnar defeating Mandy Wilks 21/13 in the final.

Our bowling season is well under way. 8 teams playing in local leagues - club competitions - social bowls mornings. Well done to Chloe, John and Trish our Triples Champions 2026.

The opening of the outdoor Bowling Green is scheduled for 1 April.
In the meantime why not get a head start indoors. Short Mat Bowling is on Mondays at 7.00pm in the golf clubhouse during the winter months, it’s warm, it’s dry, the bar is open too.

No experience necessary
Training will be provided
Spare bowls available
Please wear flat shoes

We mainly play social games with the occasional interclub match.

A lovely surprise on today’s visit to Bolsover Castle’s Christmas Tree festival. A tree dedicated to crown green bowling and decorated by local clubs. Merry Christmas.

Thanks all round for 2025. A splendid bowling season. 49 members playing their part in the club’s success in so many different ways. Well done to the league teams and congratulations to this season’s trophy winners pictured with MGC Golf Captain.
