Travelling back home from a super 2 days away at Aintree High Profile.

Lenny has tried his heart out and produced four very consistent tests to help towards our winter regional qualifications.

Yesterday in the PSG he was 4th with 68.09% and 3rd in the Inter 1 with 67.79%. It wasn't all plain sailing as in the 30 minutes prior to tacking him up for the Inter 1 he decided why compete with four shoes when you can have a go with three 🙈. With not enough time to get the local farrier to put his shoe back on we went with three wheels, if it's good enough for Bomb at WEG it's good enough for Len!

An early morning start to get his shoe put back on at 7am this morning, it was a long wait to compete this afternoon. We did the PSG and Inter 1 again scoring 66.81 for 7th and 66.57% for 3rd.

We are so proud of the consistent little horse he has become, 4 years ago he went to Aintree for the first time, halted on the centre line and decided he best rapidly turn around because it was as all so scary! It was also really lovely to hear everyone's kind comments about what a super little horse he has become and how smart he is, we couldn't disagree because we love him 🧡 and are obviously slightly biased 🤣!

Aintree is one of our favourite venues, the facilities are fantastic, the staff are all so welcoming, friendly and nothing is a problem for them, it feels magically stabling in the Grand National stables walking down the side of the race course to compete - thank you to all the team at Aintree for making attending your shows such an enjoyable experience.

We had to leave Wellington in a hurry on Friday as Peter had a stroke. Thank goodness he is making a good recovery. His thought process and thinking of words has been affected but are improving daily.

All settled in at Wellington CDI 🇬🇧 and through the trot up ready for the PSG tomorrow morning🤞🏼.

Lily trotted him up this time after our attempts at Hartpury 🙈. It was a good job she did as Lenny did what Lenny does best and was tuning into some extra terrestrial signals with his tail 🤣. Unfortunately it wasn't caught on camera as I videoed the floor 🤦🏼‍♀️.

We are back home from a wonderful four days at the National Dressage Championships at Somerford Park with Lenny.

Lenny has grown up so much, even in the last year, after being rather frightened in the main arena last year at the Championships to go in completely unfazed by any of it this year. He was very rideable, and tried his little heart out, we couldn't have been prouder of him and the little horse he has become 🧡.

We went with one aim and that was to qualify from our straight classes for the freestyle in both the PSG and Inter 1 of which we achieved exactly that and had a great time riding to our music put together by Equivisions dressage to music design.

Whilst we didn't come home with any rosettes, we are thrilled to have placed 14th out of 41 in the PSG Supreme Championship and 19th out of 42 in the Inter 1 Supreme Championship 🎉.

A massive thank you to Lily Carson for all your help over the four days, we don't do things by halves with the trade stand and also judging 5 classes 🙈.

Thank you to everyone who plays their part in our journey as we couldn't achieve what we do without everyone playing their vital role to keep us on the road!

We are looking for a organised, enthusiastic and practical person to join our team at Sue Carson Saddles on a full-time basis.

The role is varied, being primarily office based, focusing on sales and marketing along with day to day yard jobs caring for top level competition horses, so we are looking for someone who is happy to turn their hand to different tasks and get stuck in wherever needed.

💻 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚:
- General office and administrative duties
- Answering phone calls, emails and dealing with customer enquiries
- Managing diaries and appointments
- Telesales and following up leads
- Social media and marketing
- Carrying out general day to day yard duties including mucking out, turning out and tacking up
- Supporting events and the day to day running of the business

We are looking for someone who is strong on the office side, but who has enough horse knowledge and experience to confidently look after competition horses.

A memory came up on Facebook from 5 years ago today. It was of Lenny at Keysoe Regionals as a 5 year old in the Prelim and Novice qualifying for his first championships at Prelim.

What a whirlwind the last 5 years have been, qualifying for the Championships at every level, from Prelim to now Inter 1 after winning the regionals last week at PSG and Inter 1. Every journey isn’t just about training, it’s been about resilience, commitment and patience. During these 5 years, I’ve undergone a full hysterectomy (Nov 2024) and my second hip replacement (May 2023, having had my first just 9 months before Lenny came into my life).

I feel like I am riding better than I ever have and last month we were lucky enough to represent Great Britain at the Hartpury CDI, followed by taking home two regional titles.

We so rarely stop to look back at how far we have come, the progress made and how much we have changed along the way. I couldn't be prouder of this special little home produce horse and the journey we are on together - Lenny you are a partner of a lifetime 🐴🧡🇬🇧✨

What a memorable day we have had Aintree International Equestrian Centre with SCS Lumiere KH coming home with not one but two regional titles and tickets to the Nationals in September.

A lovely clear round in the Inter 1 to take the win followed by an almost clear round in the PSG. There was one minor sack the jockey moment 🙈 for not looking up to ceiling in the 4's but apart from that a great test to take the win in a 10 strong class.

Stable 46 you must be a lucky one!

All settled in at Aintree for Lenny's second regionals and ready for an early start tomorrow morning.

He wasn't too impressed on having his photo taken and just wanted his tea 😂.

On Friday we headed across to Vale View for the first of our summer regionals with Lenny.

We were delighted with his clear rounds in both the PSG and Inter 1 scoring the consistent score of 67.55% for both tests!
