A memory came up on Facebook from 5 years ago today. It was of Lenny at Keysoe Regionals as a 5 year old in the Prelim and Novice qualifying for his first championships at Prelim.

What a whirlwind the last 5 years have been, qualifying for the Championships at every level, from Prelim to now Inter 1 after winning the regionals last week at PSG and Inter 1. Every journey isn’t just about training, it’s been about resilience, commitment and patience. During these 5 years, I’ve undergone a full hysterectomy (Nov 2024) and my second hip replacement (May 2023, having had my first just 9 months before Lenny came into my life).

I feel like I am riding better than I ever have and last month we were lucky enough to represent Great Britain at the Hartpury CDI, followed by taking home two regional titles.

We so rarely stop to look back at how far we have come, the progress made and how much we have changed along the way. I couldn't be prouder of this special little home produce horse and the journey we are on together - Lenny you are a partner of a lifetime 🐴🧡🇬🇧✨

🥇 PSG Gold
🥇 Inter 1 Gold

What a memorable day we have had Aintree International Equestrian Centre with SCS Lumiere KH coming home with not one but two regional titles and tickets to the Nationals in September.

A lovely clear round in the Inter 1 to take the win followed by an almost clear round in the PSG. There was one minor sack the jockey moment 🙈 for not looking up to ceiling in the 4's but apart from that a great test to take the win in a 10 strong class.

Stable 46 you must be a lucky one!

All settled in at Aintree for Lenny's second regionals and ready for an early start tomorrow morning.

He wasn't too impressed on having his photo taken and just wanted his tea 😂.

Let's hope that this is a lucky stable 🍀 🤞🏼

On Friday we headed across to Vale View for the first of our summer regionals with Lenny.

We were delighted with his clear rounds in both the PSG and Inter 1 scoring the consistent score of 67.55% for both tests!

🇬🇧 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗗𝗜 🇬🇧

What an enjoyable few days we have had at Hartpury CDI for SCS Lumiere KH’s first International.

Thursday was trot up day which he behaved impeccably for. If you know Lenny, his tail can sometimes act as an antenna which makes him a bit giddy 🙈😂 but he kept it together and trotted very sensibly. I need some more practice at running following my two hip replacements for trot ups!
Fridays test was the PSG and an early morning start. Unfortunately we didn’t quite manage a clear round with counting mistakes in the 4’s but overall he went well.
Saturdays turn was the Inter 1 and our aim was to qualify for the Freestyle on Sunday. We did just that by the skin of our teeth despite a Satnav malfunction 🤦🏼‍♀️ coming out of the shoulder in into the medium trot and counting mistakes in the 2’s.
Sunday was the Freestyle and it was great to ride to our music again. We finished the weekend with a clear round and just missed out on a top 10 placing.

It was great to catch up with friends from around the world 🌍 and watch some top combinations in the sun ☀️.

We have had a very enjoyable and memorable weekend and are grateful for the help and support from our team to help us reach this level and represent 🇬🇧. It takes a village to get down the centre line and to represent Great Britain having produced Lenny from a just backed 4 year old to an International Small Tour Horse, it is a credit to everyone who has been part of our journey, we really couldn’t have done it alone.

So pleased Lenny is through to the music at Hartpury CDI tomorrow. We haven’t performed at our best but have achieved our goal. Thank you to Paul Fielder and Lily Carson for all their help. A full round up on Monday. Lenny kissing Lily and Tiny watching the tests as an loyal supporter 😂

Trot up complete ✅ at our first CDI 🇬🇧.

Lenny may have passed but I most certainly didn't 🙈, 2 hip replacements later I think I need a little more running practice!

We are back home from a busy week at the Winter Dressage Championships and the boys have enjoyed a well earned day off in the field ☀️.

Between us we competed in 4 classes and achieved 3 top 10 placings.

Thursday started off with the PSG Gold Freestyle where SCS Lumiere KH placed 6th after a great test dancing to his new music put together last week by Equivisions🙈.
Friday was a very busy day with both Lily and I going down the centreline at exactly the same time, 15.25! Lenny was in the Inter 1 Gold and produced some great work in his test but forgot how to count in the 2’s placing us outside of the top 10. Lily and SCS Orlando From Second Life were in the Petplan Novice Silver where they produced a great test but completely split the judges with one judge having them to win the class with 72%+ and another judging having them 30th which overall placed them 9th.
Saturday was the Inter 1 Gold Freestyle where Lenny produced another fabulous test placing him 8th in some very hot competition.

We are over the moon with how they both behaved, took it all in and performed for the duration of the show. Thank you to Kate Rowland for helping with Lenny on Friday, Lewis Dodd-Armstrong for helping Lily, Beccy King for your help manning the tradestand and everyone else who has helped in the chaos this week!

The future for both horses is very exciting and we couldn’t do it without the help and support of our team, thank you to everyone who helps us get down the centre line! 🧡🧡

A busy few days away at Myerscough for the High Profile with Lenny and Orlando.

Lenny went very well in his PSG and Inter 1 placing 2nd 🥈 in both his classes, great preparation for the Winter Champs in two weeks time. We are still chasing this pesky international score!

Orlando went to this show to gain experience and mileage having only just taken the step up to Medium. Whilst there were costly green mistakes, he received lots of great marks and he is definitely a “star for the future”. He placed in the top 10 in each of his classes and finished the show on a high taking the win 🥇 in the Elementary.
