Thinking about getting healthy in 2026?
This New Year, choose LIFE LONG HABITS not short term goals.
Real and sustained change only comes from BUILDING ROUTINES you can maintain.
Motivation is high and energising come January 1st, but dies out quickly. Routine is what changes your life, not motivation.
Routine is the only fuel that lasts. Routine means you show up for training even when you don't want to. Accepting there is no end to the routine is also key - I am talking about making life long changes to how you live and how you feel about yourself for months and years to come, not just January.
So think twice about signing up for another January of 'no carbs' or 'calorie restricted diets' or '30 days to better abs'. Studies show most people who do extreme challenges regain any weight lost and end up worse than before.
Instead, get a realistic exercise plan that you can sustain, that fits into your life and that you enjoy. This might be a home workout plan, a gym routine, a personal trainer or signing up for regular classes with a friend.
Make gradual changes to your diet and your activity levels. Think about first cutting down on something rather than suddenly quitting and then struggling with cravings.
This January, make a different kind of New Year's resolution.
