Bisham Paddle Sport Club was previously Longridge Canoe Club and was founded in the mid sixties. Over the years we have had many successful ultra distance paddlers. We were fortunate to have Alan Tullet, Peter Lee and then Tim Ward, all who supported the development of young paddlers.

Tim Cornish held the record for the Devizes to Westminster race, he set the Senior Doubles non-stop record of 15 hours and 34 minutes alongside his paddling partner, Brian Greenham, in 1979. The historic, long-standing milestone was finally broken in April 2023 by Keith Moule and Tom Sharpe, who completed the 125-mile course in 15 hours, 19 minutes, and 35 seconds.

We have had Olympians Sheila Burnett and Jane Rowse. Many paddlers with international honours in both sprint and marathon.

Recently two of our youngest senior members; Ben Atkins, and Ollie Smee completed the Devizes Westminster race and the 1000 mile Yukon race. https://www.facebook.com/theyukon1000

We are a small community club with about fifty members. Whilst we welcome all ages and abilities we are currently recruiting 10 to 14 year old to train for local, national and international events.
