"I was so stressed, I ate the whole damn thing. Now I hate myself."

How many have you have been in a similar situation when you've been stressed? Tight deadlines at work, trying to get the kids off the screen, a fight with a partner or friend got you reaching for that extra snack?

We've all been there! When I was working in patisserie I would constantly find myself reaching for the extra little delicious morsel. Added bonus, it would distract me from my present reality.

But I also really wanted to be healthier so I could build the body I wanted, to be stronger at work. Making bread is physically DEMANDING! Also, did you know when you over indulge in sweets you get acne?!?! Not a strong look!

So did I ditch the cake and sweet treats? HELL NO! I'm French, you can get laughed out of town for that kind of behaviour. Also, and more importantly you don't need to. You can make a small change that will get you where you want to be.

For me it was about reducing the amount of sugary treats and tapping into my stubborn streak in a positive way. When I got stressed I would take myself to the gym or a walk to distract myself. I wanted to be strong and have clear skin more than I wanted to hate myself. This took practice but I shifted my patterns over time.

I'm not one for swapping treats out for a healthier version, it's not my style. But it might be yours. Find an alternative version of your favourite treat that you can enjoy without the guilt.

Cause life is to be enjoyed!

I've been a bit quiet on here recently as there have been some big moves happening behind the scenes.

I’m in the process of developing a program that can better serve busy driven professionals to achieve their fitness goals around a busy schedule and I'm in need of your help.

I used to be in the exact same position and found a way to get the strong athletic body I have always wanted while working 12-16 hour shifts at a French patisserie. I am now on a mission to help other people do the same!

"My goal is to lose weight. I should do more cardio."

This is what I hear from a lot of my new clients when we are looking at their fitness goals.

Or worse, what they say to themselves when they are looking in the mirror 😞

But most of the time they actually need to be focusing on toning. They have a small layer of fat on a problem area, like the back of their arms, tummy or thighs. What the biggest issue really is is underneath the muscle is weak. They feel like it would be better to lose the fat first or that if they focus on toning they are going to bulk up further.

Except the thing is, when you concentrate more on toning exercises you will burn this fat and build more active, stronger muscles.

Toning programmes set up properly help you find the right balance for your body shape without bulking you up.

I firmly believe that you can reach your goals and still have the good stuff. The most common mistake I see is that it's not always done in moderation. β €

This really is my philosophy across the board. Over the last few years, I've become more plant based but still indulge in the beautiful creamy french cheeses I love and will have meat once in a while. β €
β €
and I have slowly started replacing the products we use in our home for zero waste alternatives.

Time to post some prizes! and they are on their way to you 🎁l

This lockdown has really shown me just how versatile a set of resistance bands can be. Whether your goal is weight loss, toning or strengthening, this handy little tool can be used in so many ways to help get you there.

For my own training, I use the resistance bands for both my strengthening and toning workouts, as I can increase the tension and the strength on the resistance bands allowing me to push my muscles to the max. Versus having a static weight for each rep.
