# # **About Us — The Field of Dreams**

**The Field of Dreams** is built on a simple belief:
**football should be a place where everyone belongs.**

Created in 2023 in partnership with The Market Weighton School, we aim to provide a supportive, inclusive environment for players of all ages and abilities, The Field of Dreams is more than just a team — it’s a community. We celebrate individuality,

encourage confidence, and give every player the chance to experience the joy of the beautiful game in a safe, friendly, and empowering setting. Our sessions focus on:

* **Inclusivity** — welcoming players with diverse needs and abilities.
* **Fun & Friendship** — building confidence, social skills, and long-lasting relationships.
* **Development** — helping each participant grow at their own pace, on and off the pitch.
* **Community Spirit** — bringing families, volunteers, and supporters together to make football accessible to all. At The Field of Dreams, every player is valued, every voice is heard, and every achievement is celebrated. We’re proud to create a space where dreams — big or small — can come to life.

🌟 A brilliant week at The Field of Dreams! 🌟

We’re excited to share that our team has now completed the Comets and Just Play training, meaning we are officially a provider for all Pan‑Disability sessions — Comets, Just Play, and Kickabout.

This is a huge step in our mission to make football fun, inclusive, and accessible for everyone.

Last night our coach Ben and Hannah also headed to the East Riding County FA offices for an inspiring workshop focused on promoting disability football and Inclusion.

**🌟 Field of Dreams – Session Report 🌟**

A very cold — in fact, a *bitter* — Monday night on the 3G didn’t stop the fun. If anything, the kids seemed completely unaware of the freezing temperatures 🥶, bursting with energy from the moment they arrived.

Tonight we were delighted to welcome **Theo** 👋🏻 for his very first session at The Field of Dreams, as well as welcome back some familiar faces we’ve really missed since Christmas. The pitch felt full again, and the atmosphere was brilliant.

**🔥 Warming Up With Rounders**
To get everyone moving (and thawing out!), we kicked off with a lively game of rounders. The competition was fierce, the running was fast, and this week’s well‑deserved champion was **Dylan** 👏 — superb effort!

**⚽ The ‘Potato Race’… Field of Dreams Style**
Next up was Ben’s twist on the classic Potato Race — swapping potatoes for footballs and lanes for hula hoops.
A special shout‑out to **Teddy**, who took charge of hoop‑alignment duty and made sure everything was perfectly in place.

With the **red team** and **blue team** lined up, it was…
**Ready… Steady… GO!**

The blue team shot into an early lead thanks to Dylan’s sharp tactics. But the red team weren’t having it — Chloe, our pocket rocket, matched Dylan stride for stride, pulling things back until both teams were neck and neck. It was even stevens all the way to the finish.

Then came the twist.

Just as the blue team edged ahead, **Max** stepped in with some top‑tier refereeing:
Two players running at once? That’s *technically* cheating!
Great spot, Max — Ben!!
But they didn’t quite get away with that one! Sadly, when we had done thing … well, let’s just say our appeal didn’t make it to VAR 😂😂😂

**💛 A Brilliant Night All Round**
It was genuinely lovely to see everyone tonight — the effort, the teamwork, the laughter, and the chaos in all the best ways.
