Good morning Raiders, and welcome to 2026.
Although cold, we have been out Raiding on Wednesday afternoons, and what fun it has been - yesterday we stopped at Bridge 61 for an aperitif with a lovely open fire and friendly staff really appreciated. So heads up for the start of our evening rides, suggested Tuesday, April 7th day after Easter. 6.30pm set off as the nights are still closing in. Proposed 27th April, later 7.00pm set off.
Looking forward to another exciting year.

Good morning, Raiders, on this soggy November morning. I am posting here about the Annual Lubenham Christmas Walk, which will take place on Monday 29th of December. An advert accompanies this post with all the relevant details. I do hope you will join us.
Concluding this year's Raiding, we have been busy on Wednesday afternoons finding more isolated routes to avoid the ever-increasing traffic. This has proved to be very successful. Laura Alden had prepared some of these new routes, and they have been most enjoyable.

Our final evening ride took place last night, covering 18 miles with a brief stop at the Red Lion in Sibbertoft. We have had a great year, which continues on Wednesday afternoons.
Here are some more pictures of our Church day ride, and end of end-of-season meal at The Coach & Horses. John Butlin now adorns the famous Yellow Jersey.

Yesterday it was our annual day ride which this year covered forty miles through the Leicestershire countryside , with a few stops along the way .

Good morning, Raiders - This is a final call for your menu choices for our evening gathering at The Coach & Horses after our Church day bike ride on Saturday, September 6th. Although the evening ride season is coming to an end, we will continue on Wednesday afternoons.

We have been enjoying some super times, including more off-trail riding - Janet Langham led us through tracks, fields, and woods to give everyone great views of stunning Northamptonshire countryside.

Dates - Saturday 6th September - Day and night with The Raiders and Resting Raiders.
Last evening ride, Monday 8th September.

Big Dave turned up on his twin electric motor E bike , what a bike , not many standard bike riders with us now .We had a nice evening cycling fifteen miles and a stop at a local pub .

Lubenham Raiders Church day bike ride Saturday, September 6th, 2025

Commencing from the village green gates at 10 am, we will ride through some beautiful countryside to a Coffee stop at a new venue. Then cycling into Leicestershire’s premier destination, the Welland Valley, where we will partake in lunch at a wonderful hostelry. The afternoon will be a little challenging, but it will be rewarded with a pint/tea at a very popular pub. The evening will round off the day at the Coach & Horses, where we will have dinner and merriment from our exploits this year.

And there were then only two - our midweek ride this week had its fewest participants, Ian and I - so we decided to take a look at some of the new developments of housing around Market Harborough - twelve miles later, and what did we observe? There are many different designs and, to be fair, interesting layouts, but much of the time you would not know where you were. We kept trying to reference landmarks within the town.
