🚨 New Research Alert! 🚨

I'm excited to share the findings from my latest thesis on optimising rider performance through better posture and muscle activation! 🐴💪

By analysing muscle activity and postural control, I've uncovered crucial insights into how rider asymmetry affects both performance and equine welfare. The research shows that experienced riders display more symmetrical muscle activation patterns, but most importantly mainly in the erector spinae longissimus highlighting the importance of targeted training of this muscle to correct imbalances.

This study also introduces a new, accessible protocol for diagnosing and improving rider asymmetry using the Onform mobile app—revolutionising the way we approach equestrian coaching! 📈

Have just caught up with the proceedings this is my favorite piece, demonstarting the need for more research in to rider coaching :) cant wait to get back on with data collection in September in preparation for conferences starting again next year only 4 years left of my PhD now 😬

So I am ready to reopen, risk assessments are done, the thermal imaging camera and laptop are charged and I have spent the morning sewing markers on to my new jackets so I no longer have to come within 2m of you! No proper research can happen at the Mark Todd Rider Performance studio until September at the earliest so I can now offer rider biomechanics analysis sessions, riding instruction and thermal imaging assessments throughout the summer. I am fully qualified and insured and hold a DBS check. Gift vouchers are available and when purchased 50% of the purchase will be donated to Centre Point, I cover Kent but outside of Kent there will be a travel cost.

So as some of you might know in my real job I work in a college, I have recently decided that I want to do more to help young people who are much worse off than any of us can imagine. The staff where I work are trying to help them but we can never do enough. So, as the only thing I know how to do to make money is teach people how to ride horses but at the moment we cant even do that I'm going to start some groups people can sign up for, I will post exercises you can do with your horse and you can send me videos of you doing them, I will then send you a review of your video and tips for how you can improve. I am going to ask for £5 per week for people to stay in the group, this will go to centre point if you want to donate more feel free. Please PM me for pay pal details and I will add you to the closed groups. Choose from lateral work, exercises with poles, jumping exercises, or rider improvement groups. I have seen alot of people who teach people to ride as their main source of income offering this service, so please do not use this instead of you regular trainer, most of these people are friends or colleagues of mine but if you want to help disadvantaged young people and can afford a little extra please join in.
