KEVIN LISBIE RETURNING TO MARGATE

It wouldn't be an fixture without him - it's Kevin Lisbie who's our first signed legend for the #2026 match and he's back for goals. Already the top scorer in the series, Lisbie's Thanet XI teammates are so pleased to have him back once more.

We're thrilled to be raising for Cancer Research UK with Lisbie and the rest of the line-up and from January, expect some major thrills - names you may never have anticipated. 💜🎗

CONQUERORS CUP RETURNS

The best-of-3 we've all anticipated is coming back to Margate for a true decider. Thanet XI and Garden of England share a victory each, with 21 goals shared between just two games. The Conquerors Cup 2026 is on. Expect legends, expect rivalry, but above all expect greatness, as our community's finest will once again prove to be undeniable.

The Conquerors Cup 2025 campaign raised £1088.93 across donations at the gate as well as online!

A remarkable fixture under challenging humid conditions, Garden of England took their long-awaited win back in a 9-3 triumph! Our Sunday League talents linked up with Premier League icons to deliver some unforgettable moments we are all honoured to be a part of. There truly was something for everyone and I have so much gratitude for everyone who made this brilliant day happen, from the 311 spectators to those visiting for the occasion and the absolute heroes on the field. Thank you all 💜

GROVES THE GAFFER!

The team was informed recently that Lee Judges will sadly no longer attend the Conquerors Cup match on Saturday. I made some calls to see who's about though and signed up a last-minute new manager for Thanet XI...it's former Arsenal, Southampton and Colchester midfielder Perry Groves.

Perry lit Highbury up along the left wing for Arsenal during the George Graham era, earning the respect and affection of Gunners across the world before progressing to St Mary's for two seasons. Post-retirement, he has frequented Sky Sports and BT Sport to name just a few, and now he's taken on the task of taming Jamie O'Hara, as well as fellow Arsenal Legend Matt Upson and prolific Jamaica hero Kevin Lisbie!

On Saturday Thanet XI live in a Perry Groves world - is it a prosperous one? Saturday's match will tell all. Donation to Cancer Research UK on entry at Margate FC!
