After a few weeks without a game we were concerned about the energy and cohesion of the team today.
We also had a small Matchday squad due to unavailable players, luckily Claude was in attendance to support today and was able to make up the numbers.
We initially set up with a back four to try and gain some control of the game. Unfortunately this didn’t pay off as we lost out in midfield I am early tussle due to being outnumbered and conceded an early goal.
The team showed great character to immediately strike back with an assist from Aaron Jr and a smart finish by Claude. Back in the game 1-1.
From then it was an end to end affair at times with EKFC going up 2-1 with another link up between AJ and Claude but Ramsgate pegged back the game to 2-2.
After some real battles all over the pitch and some really impressive football. George played and early ball out which Claude latched onto to make it 3-2 for his Hat Trick ✨
After half time we had the the initiative and wanted to press the matter. We came out early and extended our lead with AJ assisting again but this time for Leo to make a tidy finish and give us some separation.
Unfortunately the game became a bit ragged after this and some questionable challenges resulted in frustrations from both teams growing and a result some scrappy football in the second half.
Ramsgate then had a goal disallowed for offside which temporarily galvanised there team as they struck a screamer into the top corner to make it 4-3!
A tightly contested battle from here saw EKFC again put some space between them and the opposition with another AJ and Claude link up resulting in a goal 5-3.
Ramsgate still pursued the game with intent and managed to pull another back to make it 5-4 but the Lions managed to find some composure, get some structure and see the game out for the win!
Good Team performance in terms of work ethic and camaraderie today. We must not allow opposition to drag us into some of the back and forth in future as this detracts from our ability to play flowing, efficient football.

Special mention to George for some great saves today and also Paisley for her work ethic and improved physicality.
All round a good result and team performance in the end.
