As a small, local, non-commercial Archery club we do our best to give anyone who is interested in the sport, an opportunity to take part in some way by putting on Have A Go events at local shows an community events and sometimes, Taster Courses when volunteer resource is available. As we are an Archery GB regulated club - to be able to join the club & for the safety of all, candidates must have successfully passed a Beginners Course with an Archery GB registered club. If they have substantial previous experience, they will have to pass an assessment conducted by one of our Archery GB qualified coaches. All of the Coaches and the Club Committee are volunteers that are also active archers who are also involved in the sport in other, different ways including for their own pleasure, practice and competitions. When we can co-ordinate available volunteer coaches and suitable venues for Beginner Courses on convenient dates, we do. Our busy Summer Season has meant that we haven't been able to fit in as much as we would like into our programme, including Beginner Courses. Although we are enthusiastic about introducing new archers to the sport, there are limitations on the frequency we can provide suitable courses. We do operate a waiting list, and an enquiry form to join this list is available either from our website athttps://parkfieldarchers.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/PF-Archery-Club-ENQUIRY-FORM-2023_.pdf or you can email us or message us to request one. The few already on that list who have been patiently waiting, will be the first to know when any future dates become available. We are hopeful for some courses to be arranged during our indoor season which begins soon and continues through to Easter. Rest assured, we will always do our best to accommodate and welcome as many as we can, when we can, from ages 8 to 80.

Saturday 10th August will be our final Archery Have-A-Go stall for 2024 when we join many other community attractions at the exciting 'ESTAFEST' festival. This is a new community driven event on the Fenland Summer calendar raising funds for the 'Defibrillators for March' project. All are welcome to come and try their hand at archery on the Saturday.. A super day Sunday, with representatives from seven other clubs joining us at Parkfield Sports Club for our annual Albion/Windsor tournament . This competition required archers to each shoot 108 arrows over three different distances. ‘Personal best’ scores were shot and County Records succumbed to the might of the archers enjoying themselves in almost perfect conditions, creating a great atmosphere on probably the best kept sportsground in the area. Thanks to all who took part and all the volunteers who contributed their time and energy into making the day a success and to Clickers Archery of Norwich for the sponsorship of the target faces for the event.

A great day of archery at Sunday’s Open Handicap Western Tournament, (8 dozen arrows in total split over two different distances) All age groups and bow types were represented ranging from Novice to Experienced archers. Three county records surpassed and many personal best scores acheived. This end of season tournament heralds the start of our indoor season this year. A big thank you goes to Parkfield Sports Club staff for a great venue and their unstinting support during the 2023 outdoor season We will still be shooting outdoors every Sunday morning, but our week will now include most Friday evenings in Manea and a good number of Saturday afternoon sessions at March’s Neale Wade School sports hall, through to Easter 2024.

A super good weather day Sunday for the clubs 1st Junior Goldmine Tournament. Five clubs from around the county were represented and three different bow types across several age ranges. A great time was had by all. Medals and trophies were kindly presented to the winning archers by our Lady Paramount for the event, Mrs Jan Bellamy. Big thanks to Parkfield Sports Club staff for their help & support before and during the event and for making the sportsfield such an impressive, well presented venue for our archery activities.
