Notts United Sambas U10s 5–0 Stapleford Town Saxons U10s
The first game of the new season saw the Notts United Sambas U10s welcome Stapleford Town Saxons U10s for their opening fixture — and what a way to start! 💚⚽
The Sambas started the brighter of the two teams, with plenty of positive attacking play down both wings. Early chances came and went, with Cody twice forcing the Stapleford goalkeeper into excellent saves.
Loxley also came close after a superb through ball from Cody, but his effort was dragged narrowly wide of the post.
At the other end, the Sambas looked solid and organised. Teddy was excellent in goal, communicating brilliantly with Bobby, Jacob and Harrison and helping keep the defence organised.
The breakthrough finally came when Hugo won a free kick. Up stepped Cody, who produced a trademark strike from distance to find the back of the net. BOOOOOM! 💥
1–0 Sambas!
Cody wasn’t finished there. Another opportunity came his way and, after another good save from the keeper, Cody kept his composure to slot home his second of the afternoon.
2–0 Sambas at half-time.
Second Half
The second half started a little scrappy, but once the Sambas settled down and got the ball under control, they began playing some excellent football again.
The third goal came following a long ball from Teddy. Harrison bravely challenged for the ball, which fell perfectly to Hugo, who showed great composure to finish cleverly.
3–0!
Then came the goal of the day! 🌟
Harrison picked out Hugo with a fantastic pass, and Hugo absolutely smashed the ball into the top corner!
BOOOOOMMMM! 🚀 4–0 Sambas!
With the game drawing towards its conclusion, there was still time for a fifth. Oliver picked his spot beautifully and passed the ball into the bottom corner to complete an excellent team performance.
