So a year ago today aged 41, I was in QMC hospital Nottingham not expecting to make Christmas after a childhood illness was fighting back after me winning the battle for the last 28 years . On 12/12/23 I received the best Christmas gift money cannot buy, a donor liver at Addenbrookes Cambridge which changed everything.
In April 24 I returned to work and in June I returned to full duties.
In August 24 I represented Nottingham Adult Transplant Team at the British Transplant Games in Golf and 6 a side football (the football bit wasn't planned).
And now I have the honour of having the opportunity to represent my country at the World Transplant Games in Dresden August 2025 in Golf.
I have to self fund the costs of accommodation, kit and entry fees etc at a cost of approx £2500.
Thanks to 2 very generous donations Addenbrookes Liver Transplant Association (ALTA) and CSSC I am £900 closer to making my dream become reality.
If there are any other businesses who are willing to donate £500 each in return for PR on social media, guest speaking at events etc.
I am looking to raise a further £1000 - £1500.
Once I have reached my target I will be looking at putting a travel top, t-shirt together with logos of sponsors to wear at the games for photo opportunities.

Quotes I heard yesterday stated 1500 potential donors were declined by their families last year because a conversation wasn't had earlier. One donor could provide 10+ organs etc which could be over 15,000 missed opportunities to save/alter somebody's life.

Hi,
This is a wider request than merely the golf team but the whole Nottingham Adult Transplant Team.
This year was amazing to be the host city which allowed a large number of Notts competitors to compete. Next year is in Oxford so any money raised will go towards the cost of accommodation. The more money we raise will allow more people to attend and compete.
