This morning we travelled to Hucknall for our last game of the YEL season.
Starting the game in 5th position there wasn’t much for us to play for, but for Hucknall it was a different scenario, a win against us would see them be champions of the division. Our only brief to the Warriors was to make them work for their win and I think we did just that.
The warriors took an early lead with a goal from Charlie Morrin, Hucknall was quick to get themselves on the score sheet scoring two goals in quick succession. The warriors following their brief again managed to find the back of the net with another great goal from Charlie Morrin. Just before half time a few changes on the pitch and a lapse in concentration saw Hucknall get a third goal just before half time. The second half was as competitive as the first but Hucknall had that edge and managed to score another goal which saw them achieve their mission of Division Champions.
Our Joel Smedley player of the match went to Charlie McGarry for being our rock at the back.
