The British Airborne Forces Club reunion, on Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons today. 🇬🇧🆎

A great gathering of paratroopers from all cap badges and eras, out for a leg stretch, followed by a ‘few’ beers. 🍻

30 years ago l took part in exercise Purple Star in North Carolina, USA. 🇺🇸

This huge exercise involved 53,000 troops from the UK and US. Part of the exercise saw the biggest parachute drop since WW2, including the US 82nd Airborne Division and the British 5 Airborne Brigade. 🇬🇧

As Pathfinders, we had inserted a week before the main drop, to carry out recce tasks, then securing and marking the drop zone for the main drop. 🪂

During the exercise two US helicopters crashed, killing 14 troops, RIP to those lost.

A six man team from my old unit, the Pathfinders, and two medical clinicians from 16 Air Assault Brigade have parachuted on to Tristan da Cunha - an archipelago in the South Atlantic Ocean considered to be among the world’s most remote islands - to deliver aid to a British national with suspected hantavirus.

Following the jump, the Pathfinders established a Drop Zone, and enabled the delivery of 3.3 tons of medical supplies.

This is the first time the UK military has parachuted in medical personnel to provide humanitarian support.

I have had these boots for about four months now, and l have worn them tabbing and on exercise.

These incredibly light and comfortable boots are great for tabbing/rucking or for general outdoor use in dry conditions. 👍

Out on the Combat Cadet Competition on Beckingham training area last weekend.

A great weekend for cadets from all around the region, competing in subjects such as section attacks, CASEVAC, CQB, fitness, ambush, navigation etc.

Well done to my team for placing in the Gold category. 🏅

So after work last night l completed the Legion March Challenge.

This challenge, inspired by a fitness test undertaken by Legionnaires, consists of tabbing/rucking 18.4 miles with a 45lb pack, in six hours or less.

Job done. My kness aren’t thanking me today though! 😬
