Today we travelled to Great Baddow for a walking football taster day. 8 teams, 6 a-side. We welcomed Anna who played in her debut tournament for us. Starters was a match against Stanway Rovers Walking Football ladies. Fairly even match with chances from both sides. Then Billericay 2, we were on top for much of the match but couldn't find a way through. Next Valley Green, nice competitive but friendly game. Great shot from Zalda gave us the lead followed by a goal from Annette. Valley Green had a great run down the wing and passed in for a smashing goal. Chelmsford next, they had some excellent players and with some smart play scored 2 goals against us. We played well against Beacon Hill with several efforts on goal, but some tidy goal keeping kept us at bay. A fast start against Billericay saw us pounce on their kick off and score straight away with Annette scoring again. Only a few minutes had passed and another fine strike from Zalda saw us go 2nil up. Lastly Southend, some strong play from both teams. We had several strikes on goal but finished goalless.
Well done to all the teams, nice day and good result for us.

A worthy second place finish!
Last night our team of 8 travelled to Ipswich for a walking football tournament. Lovely evening for football at a nice venue.
Rules were 'fairly fluid' so took us a while to adjust to the fact jogging seemed to be acceptable!
We started slowly with a 1-0 loss. Then despite being on top for much of each of the games, had 3 nil nil games in a row. Several strikes on goal but alas, good goal keeping kept us out. Match 5 saw our first goal with a lovely long range shot from Jane S. A good 1-0 win. Match 6 another 1-0 win with a cool low shot from Sarah N. Our winning streak continued with yet another 1-0 win, despite a lot of shots on target from us, there was some excellent goal keeping by the opposition. Goal was a fine placed shot again from Jane S. Our last game saw a nice friendly match played out to another 0-0 draw. Total of 3 goals scored and only one conceded. A really nice friendly set of matches against some fresh opposition and our friends at Stanway Rovers Ladies.

WINNERS! ⚽️🥇🥳
Wow! What a day! Yesterday we went to the Great Baddow monthly 5 aside tournament. We've been attending these for a little while now, everytime we've entered a team (or 2!) we've done a bit better, improving each time. This weekend we finally did it and won the tournament! Well done to all. Its all down to hard work and implementing our training into matches. Thanks to Jane our coach for all her hard work!

Perfect end to the week! Today the team travelled to Wickham Bishops for the Tiptree Charity Cup. As always had a great day and finished Runners Up, narrowly losing the final to Beacon Hill 2-1. Thank you to our hosts Beacon Hill Rovers Women’s Walking Football Over 40s.

Monday evening we had at 9v9 friendly with Elmden Rovers FC. Great atmosphere, some excellent play from both teams. Thank you for the hospitality and we look forward to playing against you again!

Amazing day for us on Saturday at the Great Baddow tournament. Joint first place, second on goal difference. Again no goals scored against us. Some great play and shots on goal. All our three goals scored by Jo.

Well done to the two Foxash Mixed Walking Football teams that played Sunday 26th April in the Brightlingsea Memorial Tournament. Perfect weather for football! Some excellent football by both teams. Thank you to Brightlingsea Regent Walking Football Club for being excellent hosts. Well done to all that played.
